New pictures made old.

When wandering around non photography related museums and exhibitions I've seen lots of old photographs. Some are obviously old and faded and lacking contrast whilst some seem to have too high contrast, others have slightly or even completely missed focus and some are enlarged way beyond what the camera gear used was suitable for resulting in every flaw being visible and the image looking like a monochrome pointilist painting.

I decided to see if I could get anywhere near the various looks that these old photographs had so I fiddled with some shots I took whilst walking on the beach when my car was in for servicing. They've been processed in different ways to try and emulate the different faded, low contrast, high contrast, missed focus, enlarged too far photographs I've seen. The look I was going for seems to come through quite well in print and on my screen but here, viewed small, it's less visible but I hope it still comes through enough to show what I was aiming for.

Anyway, I hope you lot like some of them...

Big Blue

My that looks bleak.

It was certainly a wrap up warm and try and keep dry day, but I'd rather be out on a day like that than at a desk doing a thankless job... and I still can't believe my luck that I've left all that behind me, farrrrrrrrrrr behind me.
