I was originally thinking it could be a Corvair variant, then moved onto Packard and then to Hudson.  Then got bored.

Like Dan I was looking into Corvairs but haven't been able to find anything.
I am stumped.

Can't even find anything remotely like it on Hemmings.

Is it a one off body built on a Sunbeam Stilletto? (Although it looks bigger than a Stilletto)
