kraftwerk
Not German. Not really. Only a bit.
Big TC
The engine bit? Seeing as it appears to be at the back - VW?
kraftwerk
VW is right, but I need the detail.
Big TC
Can't find the detail, sorry. So I'm out....
BeN
Is this the longest we've been so far without a correct answer?
kraftwerk
No takers, then? Where's Colin, CBacon etc?
D.
Well it's very similar to the VW 1500/1600. Possibly South American. But I can't find anything with that grille.

It's not South American.
Big TC

DarthBalls
| BeN wrote: | | It's not a Proton. |
I know - I just wanted to type 'proto-Proton'.
kraftwerk
Not middle-eastern, no. Proto-Proton does have a nice ring to it. Like 'A pre-Kia' maybe.
kraftwerk
So, no takers on this one, then?
cbeaks1
Chinese built knockdown VW aircooled 1300 something or other?

Tell me more...
cbeaks1
I was guessing. No amount of googling has helped so far.
kraftwerk
OK, shall I tell you?
cbeaks1
Go on then. If its a Chinese built knockdown VW aircooled 1300 something or other can I claim a small prize?
kraftwerk
One special fried rice and a portion of chicken with bamboo shoots and water chestnuts is yours to collect at any time. My God, I'm hungry now.
It's actually a VW Jinggansham, a 1958 Chinese-built model, of which there were only a handful manufactured.
BeN
My, even I haven't heard of it.
Just nice for Chinese New Year, mind.
