Motor Trend magazine USAPicked up a copy of this the other day. The usual American musclecar shootout- the Camaro won- but what interested me was their long term fleet.
They have a Jetta TDI which they love and have just bought a BMW 335D.
The starting price is $44,500, $2,500 more than the 335i.
I haven't looked but their website is motortrend.com
They also have a Hyundai coupe with a 3.5l engine which seems to be fairly quick.
Also, the Mustang seems to have the most modern engine of the 3 muscle cars, with 3 valves per cylinder.

I happened across a double-issue curio of Car and Driver in a local Esso back in '07 (they were April and October '06 issues) and I thoroughly enjoyed reading them, so perhaps you could pick up one of those, too.
I used to have a digital subscription to Motor Trend, but reading magazines off your computer is just weird.
