motoGP 2014

Great start to the season, especially as I am watching it on the motoGP feed. Front row start for Bradley Smith and Rossi took 2nd to remind people of who most spectators go to see.

moto3 race had the usual EPIC final lap with a first win for a non-Spaniard in over a season. Hasn't increased my popularity at home, though....

I managed to watch the moto3 and GP races, both of which were great viewing.

A shame Bradley crashed out in such a good position and so near the end. He was not alone, so why were they all losing the front end so dramatically on left-handers? Was sand on the track maybe an issue, I can't believe it was just the compound of the tyre.

Did Crutchlow run out of fuel at the end of the race? It certainly looked like it despite having 24 liters available.

It certainly looked like Cal ran dry; That Ducati is a thirsty beast with the engineer's power improvement based on pouring more petrol into the cylinders.

Gutted for Brad, who I have followed for years - the most successful English GP rider since Barry Sheene. There was a lot of chat about the compound of the tyre before the race, with many riders saying they thought the "anti-slip" compound was unnecessary and culminating in Marquez running the hard rear.

Also just seen the top speed attained by Marquez during the race: 348.3kph or 217.7mph.

Fuck me that's fast!

He could have gone quicker if he'd snicked it into top once in a while!!
