Mono flowers.

Mono flowers.

I posted these on the photography forum but I got next to no response so I thought I'd ask you guys what you think of these, as plenty of
you are into photography...

I haven't done much mono, I've probably converted less than 20 shots but as plenty of people like mono I thought I'd give it a go.

I'm not really too sure what I want to achieve yet beyond just something nice that isn't full colour. I've added tint here rather than leave
it as pure black, white and grey scale and I've also added lots of noise and lowered the contrast. I'd like to lower the contrast more but
I'm having a problem getting the result I want.

Anyway, mono flowers...feel free to comment...good or bad...

Personally, I think the contrast's fine as it is. I am a huge fan of B&W/mono, and roses are an excellent subject for it. (we just never have roses in the house - H prefers carnations!!)

They're in black and white?

I must be seeing things- obbviously it's my rose tinted glasses.

Thanks, the contrast has been turned down quite a bit but going lower doesn't seem to give a pleasing effect.

These shots were taken last year and roses are in a tub outside. There's quite a few buds showing so I think that there's going to be a
good crop this year. Last years crop was wonderful, beyond expectations.

I think I'll print them out tonight and see what they look like. The plan is to take and print a shot, other than a car, that's worth framing
and hanging.

Nicely done.  Flowers are not my favourite subject, seeing as I suffer from hay fever :-(

oh dear, sorry about that Chris. I must have 5,000 pictures of flowers on my pc.

But thanks for saying nicely done.
