The BBC is reporting that Mercedes are to take a major stake in Brawn. Their relationship with McLaren is said to be unaffected.

That's interesting news, if true. Perhaps Brawn will become a sort of feeder team for McLaren?

If Brawn continues to outperform McLaren, could be the other way around.

They may be a good racing team but theres no doubt they are a shambles commercially. I find it very odd that with all the success they've had they couldn't seem to extract money from any significant sponsers.
Therefore I guess Ross Brawn has no choice then to sell off a large portion of the operation to protect its long term future

I read a report some months ago that financially they were secure for next year and were in the position to pick and choose who came on board as a sponsor.

May have been bullshit though.

I read a report a couple of months ago which suggested that potential sponsors were progressively put off because they expected the going rate to rise significantly each time Button won.

Which means the going rate is currently dropping like a stone!
