Mercedes E Class Coupe

Twelfth Monkey

Merc's hired Porsche's lazy designers?
gonnabuildabuggy

Nice, but so far I'd say the present one.

Without the need for a hatch or 5 seats then an E500 Coupe would be high up my shortlist.
JohnC

It is a better resolved design than the C Class Coupe but it still has that rear quarter light which Racing hates so much. I have to agree with him that it totally spoils the lines. Perhaps in the right colour with some privacy glass it might not be so noticeable. I am not really sure why rear windows need to move in a coupe these days - they all have air con and if you like fresh air, the front windows are more than big enough or you can always option the sunroof.

I am glad that the strange rear quarter crease around the wheel arch has gone and the interior looks interesting.

It doesn't grab me though!
Giant

Looks like the roof has slipped backwards.

Moonboots on but I never get this. Can't quite work out how folk think the 718, Panamera, Macan, 918, Cayenne and 991 all look similar and if you're talking 911 only, apart from the engine slung out the back, which is moving increasing inboard, theres not much in common between a 964 and a 991.

Back on the E-class, I bet you could spec up a lovely looking example with the leather and wood mix on offer. I'd probably take a C63 over one though.
Big Blue

Looks neither Merc-rock-solid nor innovative so that's a fail.

Probably a superb place to sit though.
Michael

The back works better than on the C class but I don't like the rear lights at all. They don't work here and they don't work on the estate. The interior looks very nice, though.
Chip Butty

Very handsome - I like that.
Martin

Really like that, better than the C Class coupe and the interior looks good.

And Renault rang...they want their design back...

Minus the crappy rear window update obviously...

Did you read that next year's RSR racer will be mid-engined?

Why? They never sold any Laguna Coupes so they might as well let someone else have a go!

Yeah, looks like the FIA are doing their utmost to fuck up GT racing again.

If it's getting too popular they'll sabotage it to 'protect' F1 as they did a decade or so ago.
