It's missed.....but not forgotten!!!

I've been clearing through my Blackberry as I'm getting a new one and had forgotten that I took these pictures of the Passat.  It was when I went to empty it out the day before it went back early to the lease company.  It was made worse by the VW dealer giving it a fairly decent clean, including dressing the tyres.

A slightly sad day and I do miss it, even with 107k miles it was (gearbox aside!!) a much nicer car in nearly every way than my new Jetta Sport.  I'd swap them over tomorrow, but only until the new car arrives

Not great pictures, but I think it's only a 2MB camera?

My youngest wanted one last 'drive'

You can just make out the Ferrari seats if you look closely

It was replaced for a week by this one

I can't make out the Ferrari seats on the bottom one. Am I to assume it didn't have them?
Martin

No, it had the comfort seats which look and feel awful.  They were trimmed in leather, but it wasn't much like leather imo!

Martin - was given a 2.0 tdi as a hire car while in GB last week, as Sixt were out of Jettas, it was bloody massive ! Will not miss the cruise control which I kept banging with my Knee, but was very impressed by the MPG, I put in 75 quid's worth of Diesel and covered about 800 miles so around 49 MPG..not bad when I was doing a mix of town/A road and motorway thrapping.

The previous user had already mangled an alloy, then the tyre decided to 'do a Blarno' and bubbled on the sidewall, so I had to treat it gently on the last day for fear of a loud bang and some trouble, to their credit Sixt understood when I pointed out that the damage was related to the wheel being wrecked and they didn't try to pin it on me (phew).

Total cost to hire for the week was 173 quid, not too shabby really.

Was it a Highline, like the silvery blue in the bottom picture?

The softer suspension (compared to the Sport) is not a positive thing and effects the steering feel as well as the damping and roll.  There were also quite a few bits of trim that were of a noticeably lower quality than in my older car.  VW have been taking money out over the last 3 years!

think it was, the leather was a little tough and slippery as well.

It looks in remarkably good nick for 107k.
I've noticed that the majority of new passats have the style of alloy as shown on the light blue car, doesn't seem to be much variation.
