Is it just me or is this stonking value?

No, the wooden gear knob knocks thousands off the value.....

Wood trim is standard on those I believe.

To the original question - I think that's about current market value, however I suspect they are at the bottom of their depreciation curve pretty much and therefore great value for what they are.

As a former E36 owner something like that would make a cracking daily driver I reckon, pity I need something a bit bigger at present.
Frank Bullitt

There's a superb M3 article in this months CAR and it struck me the E36 is a real sweet spot in the range; E30's and E46's have issues that can bankrupt you but E36's, even Evo's with their double VANOS, trick diff and occasionally problematical gearboxes seem to be reliable and serviceable in a way a 20 year old 321bhp super saloon should not be. I wonder how cheap a decent non-Evo E36 is!

As a way to blow £5k if you want performance I'd struggle to argue with that, always liked the E36 too.

I love that especially the interior.

I'm quite keen on getting an E90/92 M3 at the moment

Think you would get the more popular coupe  and cabrio cheaper-in fact even one of the last M3 cabrios

That saloon looks like  tarted up 318i- but is strangely appealing because of it.And not forgetting it is one of the rarest of Ms.

you couldn't be more wrong.

the cab looks cheap with its poor roof and the coupe suffers with a rather dodgy image. The saloon looks by far the best

I'm no fan of the coupe or cab either -but most M3 buyers will pick them all day over the saloon.
The saloon's time will  come though.

The door cards are just so shite on the E36. Really drags down the perceived quality.

?? Nothing wrong with the ones I had. They were rock solid and good quality materials.

If yours was a 91/92 then the quality of materials overall was lower.
Nice Guy Eddie

Wasn't it the internal door handles that always used to break.

It's only a couple of years older than your much-loved Scenic Chris................

Mine got to 196K and 15yrs without sight of a problem.

The early models were lower quality though.
Matt

The early quality was an issue, but even stylistically they're horrible.

To be fair, you did do your best to change that

From the outside....

Alf McQueef

Looks great value to me, I'd have it if in the market for a play car.

Maybe I'll just buy it anyway to piss off Mrs ALF. (though maybe I have not lived this long by doing things like that).

Nice car anyway!
