IS "facelift"

Just as I was starting to get used to the front of the IS, Lexus clearly want to remain even more out there.

They seem to have changed the front to resemble two jet intakes. WTF do they smoke at Lexus?

It sort of looks shocked and angry at the same time.

Like it's a Daily Mail reader who has just discovered a secret EU plot to house Syrian refugees in their back garden.

One for Bob then.

I think I'll need to see it in the flesh.

I like the new Lexus design language, so will probably like this in the flesh.

I like it too, however the new design language looks more natural on the RX; I guess because it has been designed from the ground up to look like it does, whereas the IS, is a facelift and it looks a bit forced on.

I did think...."basking shark" initially

That is nasty

Lexus have clearly decided to go down the marmite route with their styling after decades of beige hasn't got them anywhere significant against the Germans.

I think the current IS looks superb and this is even better in pictures. I don't like the NX and RX because of their square wheel arches but this and the coupe that's coming are right up my street. I hope the next CT is similarly divisive  ( the current one is still previous design generation underwheeled beige) as they would probably be on our company car list.

The inside of the F-Sport IS300 I drove a couple of years ago was very, very nice. Red seats like those, instruments that changed to look like the LFA ones in sport mode (uber-cool) and so on. I just wish they'd make the outside a bit less "challenging"..

I like the rear end on most Lexi these days and on some, like the RC coupe which was reasonably common in Florida, the front doesn't look anything like as weird when seen in the flesh.

As PG said, the inside of a Lexus is normally a very nice place to be.

My phone won't open the page, I assume on account of decency.

Given the headline, I wondered if "facelift" was slang for beheading

I remember in the late 90s it was popular to put a Veilside version of that body kit on a Toyota Supra. Didn't realise they still made them!
