Intergalatic XK

334k !! - Fornicate a mallard !

Must have been hard miles though - it looks uncared for rather than just tired.

Much younger, but appears to be wearing it's mileage very well.

It's great to see people using their GTs properly, but they must have very deep pockets or a healthy business mileage scheme.
Michael

I know of an XK in far worse condition than the top one, although I'd be surprised if the mileage was even close. It, and a number of other Jaguars, belong to a family of farmers not far from me. They also won £6m on the lottery. The XK, which I haven't seen around for a while, had similar faded paint with the roof being nearly white on a dark green car.

Apart from the boot (which looks like it has been cleaned with a brillo pad) and the drivers seat (shagged beyond redemption), that 334k mile one is in better bodywork condition than some that were for sale with mileages way lower than that when I was looking.

As you say, nice to see people driving them!

That Green one looks great value and love the colour and hood. Can you change the interior from silver plastic?

That seat is hilarious! Iíve seen 100 year old barn finds in better condition.

I love the green XKR

Well then Martin, that solves your what to get dilema. An XK convertible. Almost useable rear seats (your boys will love it); V8; lots to choose from second had at sensible prices. Job done.

And if the XKR is too much, the base 4.2 V8 is hardly a slouch (and cheaper).
Roadsterstu

Maybe cosmetically poor but it must have been mechanically looked after, to get that far. V8 track toy, perhaps?

I also really like that Green car.

I did mention that an XK (V8/R) would fit the bill in Martin's potential car thread - it all depends whether you bother about the 'older owner image'. I wouldn't.

The guy at Hatfield Sheffield that I bought my XF from said that he could get interior trims changed. The central silver can't be changed, but the silver metal panels in front of the driver and passenger can be.

Yeah, but Jags are for old men!

The XKR was suggested and would definitely go on the short list.  I'm not sure that Lindsay would go for one, but she loves it when our neighbours 5.0 XKR Coupe rumbles past.  (Driven by a woman in her 50s.....!)

I don't think the base 4.2 has enough performance to justify the fuel bills, an XKR or early 5.0 would be much better.
