Huracan Performante - 6:52 'Ring lap

Nice Guy Eddie

No doubt the car will be fantastic but I'm calling Bullshit on the lap time
Blarno

Hilariously shopped photos as well.
Martin

A lot of people have called bullshit, but this is analysis completed by Racelogic who believe it is genuine.

Giant

Was it going so fast that they didn't manage to take any photos?

Creating fake photos 'at the Nurburgring' hardly adds to the credibility of the lap time!
Nice Guy Eddie

I don't think they sped up the video but I do think the car ran competition tyres, brakes, suspension, added carbonfibre etc. In my opinion the Lambo was closer to a super trofeo than a road car.

I wouldn't be surprised, it's a phenomenal time.

Is that supposed to be the ring? Does it have walled sections?

I'd watch the video to check but despite a few attempts I've never been able to watch an onboard all the way through. Is it just me or are they all dull regardless of the time?

I think there are a lot of factors here - I'm sure it had some nonstandard bits, special tyres - but it also has some very clever active aero, which Top Gear magazine described last month, and that driver (who also set the sub-seven time in the Aventador SV) is obviously a bit special.
PhilD

track looks very smooth as well. Well first 3 minutes do!

Apart from the colour and the wheels tis a brutishly handsome motor car.
Tim

So, based on recent comments from journos about Lamborghinis in general we can sum this up as :-
"Modified version of superfast but uncomfortable and slightly 'mute' hypercar performs a fast but unrepeatable time on a closed circuit, story supported by cartoon pictures"

Dr. Hfuhruhurr

Maybe so, but I'd have one!

if the merc amg gt-r can do 7.10 then no question the lambo can do that time .
Twelfth Monkey

Not sure how you can say that if you haven't driven them there.  Video is scary, turn-in looks brilliant for a road car.

The active aero does sound pretty special.
JohnC

The cornering speeds are very high. I wish I knew how to post side by side videos but if you find a video with the speeds shown (I have just watched a 911 Carrera 2 driven by a lunatic) the Lambo is considerably faster around some of the faster corners (up to 30km/h),This video of an M4 GTS (ignore the commentary) shows the Lambo about 10/15 km/h faster through the corners around the 180/190 km/h and faster still on the really fast ones. The Lambo also hits over 300km/h.

Well I don't know about you lot, but the first thing I do when I select a car is check its time round the Nurburgring, mainly because it forms part of my daily commute so that extra 30s saved is a deal clincher.

I was making the point no one doubted the merc time despite it being a fair bit quicker than things like a 991 turbo .If that  merc can do that then a car that has about 60bhp more, better balance, better traction ,weighs about 300kg less should manage to be a fair bit quicker.

Pretty sure all these times are aided by chipped engines and slick tyres though.
