Hey everyone, guess what?

Phil has only gone and put the heating on tonight
Big Blue

Yeah our Wave controller decided to fire up the afterburners this evening.
Martin

The Nest put the heating on this morning, but due to the nice weather today, it not been on this evening.

I don't understand? I original thought 'Phil' was a brand or abbreviation for a thermostat I hadn't heard of! It was only afterwards, when I saw the other thread that all became clear!
Humphrey The Pug

Our heating went on yesterday, I didn't think it needed to however I live  with two women.

It was on this morning too when I got up to feed the dogs, I turned it off.

Set to 30 degrees "to warm up quicker"?

Ours was on this morning. The boiler is 11 years old this year and every odd noise makes me worry.

Actually no, not turned right up to heat the house quicker, which is odd as that is something that she does, she also fails to check that windows are shut aswell.

And I get pissed off with having two women moan at me that they are cold and so shove the heating on, I go upstairs an hour later and the bathroom door is wide open; there is always a window open in the bathroom.

Snap! I live with two women as well and that is a word for word perfect description. Do you also get chastised for closing the windows whilst the boiler is on overtime creating enough heat to pump it upstairs and out the windows?

Wimp!

We lit a fire instead.....
Racing Teatray

I went downstairs barefoot this morning and realised I could feel the underfloor heating for the first time in a while (it's automatic).
PhilD

I also fitted the second part of the duvet so we are rocking about 12 togs. Crazy times.

I have a feeling ours came on this morning because the stat is normally turned down to about 10 and the temp must've dropped below that.
Martin

10c inside the house?  Ours didn't come on this morning, the sun warmed the house up nicely yesterday, so even after a coldish night it was 19.5 in the hall at 6am.
simonp

Might've been set lower, I never bothered checking. Our stat is near the front door in the hallway. Could've just been the hot water coming on, of course, but that doesn't usually make me stir in me pit!

Haha, nope, just hadn't seen the original thread! Although it does confuse me when posters are referred to with their 'real' names rather than their avatars, especially when the said avatars have other feasible names within them.
