Halo Reach

This was waiting for me when i got home yesterday, a day early which is nice.  Bought from HMV for £38 which included 800 ms points, a recon helmet (in game alas) and used my hmv pure card.  I can't believe some people just walk into blockbuster or whatever and just pay £40 for it.

Anyway, its pretty good, quite similar to Halo 3 but turned up to 11.  Has support for up to 4 people playing the campaign together so i thought this might be a good thing a few of us could do?  Right after our Forza tornament yeah?
BeN

I would be up for Forza, but I don't play Halo.
Tim

I was just reading about it this morning and assumed we would be getting it soon as today's the release date in the US as well.
Matt

I've never played any of the Halos...

The first one is the best by a wide margin.

From way back in 2001!

Gave me goosebumps watching it again.

Agree that the first one is the best, the second bored me and I haven't completed the third yet.

Where do you get the time to play all these games DC.

I think I may carry on with 3 in a moment, I've got an hour before the youngest gets back from school.

FYP.

Did you get a manual?
DradusContact

YES!
Blarno

Played the first Halo, disliked it and the XBOX ever since.
Parm

Halo? Is it me you're looking for?

I know!!  Surely a jetpack would be more appropriate.

I'm surprised you didn't like Halo as I thought it was very much a game along the lines of DOOM and Quake.

^^^ Blarno has small girly hands, the controller was too big!

Maybe he tried it before they brought out the special girl spec 'Controller S' for those of a dainty disposition.

I most certainly did! As they've been around for decades I can't understand why we don't all have one.

3 simples reasons

1.  Can't carry enough fuel to go a reasonable disatance
2.  Will burn your legs unless you wear fire proof pants
3.  Far too dangerous for joe public to use.  Most people are dangerous enough on the ground let alone in the air.

I'm not a details man DC... so where's my jet pack? And for that matter my hover board and personal slave robot?
DradusContact

I reccomend you read this

I have lent a copy to mr Max Headroom, its a good but saddening read.
PhilD

Cheers DC

Form the list there...

Advanced transportation (jetpacks, zeppelins, moving sidewalks, self-steering cars, flying cars, hoverboards, teleportation) - got some, rest on way apart from...teleportation never gounna happen (not for humans at least)

Future-tainment (underwater hotel, dolphin guides, space vacations, holograms, smell-o-vision, robot pets) - Got them all haven't we?

Superhuman abilities (mind-reading, anti-sleeping pills, invisible camouflage, artificial gills, x-ray specs, universal translator) - Umm... couple?

The home of the future (robot servants, unisex jumpsuits, smart houses, food pills, skyscrapper cities) - 4?

Humans in space (ray gun, space mirror, space elevator, cryogenic freezing, moon colony)  - 1.
Matt

I'll pick up a copy of that soonish. Looks interesting. I normally judge books by the cover...
DradusContact

Its quite a good read, much of the stuff is there but there is no real motivation (i.e money) to develop it.  The jetpack is a great example.

Control pads are shit for FPS games. Mouse and keyboard will always be best!
