Goodwood Festival of Speed 2011

Damn good weekend as always at Goodwood. The event continues to get busier and busier each year and I think the secret is to get there early and leave at 4pm latest to avoid all the traffic. The event is unrecocnisable from when I went in 1995 to now, I'm always undecided if this is a good thing or not. Lets just hope Prescott stays on the smaller size.

Anyway on with the pics.

Bruno was driving the Lotus 125 which is that new 650k track toy. Apparently its not all that great and the F1 team has been sent up to Lotus HQ to sort it out. Went and looked great to me.

The Arrows with the most stupid aero mod ever. If memory serves, I think this car did only one practice session at Monaco before it was banned as the drivers couldn't see.

Sat nicely between two fuel tanks.

Some gorgeous indy stuff

Look a little closer, yes it really is an engine with some sort of sidecar strapped to it.

Wibble

The name on the side looks like its come from a Top Gear sketch

The first Electric car designed by Mr Porsche. The detail on this thing was amazing

The winner of the Style Et Luxe, not my choice, I'd have had Jay Kays Maserati

The FF, I thought it was lovely, the missus said it was crap.

The new Pagani, Which I can confirm is no Zonda. Apologies for the lack of external shots but I'm not as patiant as Colin and I had to punch three security people to get as close as I did before they chased me off.

The new Alfa which is rather lovely. Move over Cayman

The Esprit. Apparently these wing mirrors are production ready if they can get the type approval needed to have cameras rather then mirrors.

Where it all began

Who's the bald bloke talking to Chandhok and Senna?

And I never knew Button was left handed. All the most talented people are.

Awsome pics, are "known" drivers really that easy to see and get pics of or did you have some kind of better access pass?

I really must get along this year, I mentioned it to my Step Mum when I was round the other week and I didn't realise that she would love to go to so I think she's going to have a go at working on my dad to pay for the both of us to go next year.

I'm not a lefty, however I do do many things left handed so I suppose I'm almost ambidextrous, the youngest is a lefty though.

I'd deffo recommend it as your relatively local. There really is so much to see, that in a day your only scratching the surface.

The access to the drivers is good as like in F1 they have to get from their motorhomes to the paddock but its a bit of a scrum. I was a hanger on with Renault F1 this year so was lucky to get better access and into the pit area for the F1 runs.

Great pics. Thanks for sharing.

Love this.

Big Blue

Left handed? Witch! Drown them all.....
