Good looking Lexus shock

Behold the LC500 coupe

Roadrunner

I'll take the Jaguar/Buick thanks.
Scouse

That grille still looks wank.

So is this like a BMW 6 Series rival?
Roadsterstu

Good looking from which angle?
PG

From the side yes. From every other angel either the grille gets in the way, or the weirdly bulbous rear just looks odd.

Shame, as that with a bit of decluttering and some sensible front and rear treatments that could be really good.

and the LC500 name suggests it will not be slow.

Add me to the list.

Nice in parts but it's a shame the 36 people who designed it never met
PhilD

An LFA for the masses. I'll take mine in black please.
Giant

A strange mix of stunning and hideous, I suspect it'll look better in the flesh.

Weird that they took their C pillar inspiration from the new Astra of all places, although C pillars with incoherent lines and gloss black plastic seems to be a new design feature, the Chevy Bolt has it too.

I love the dash design, very '80s retro.
Nelson

That looks nothing but absolutely fabulous outside and in.

Lexus really are producing some wonderfully, if Marmite, styled cars at the moment, in fact when I answered a recent car survey I voted for Lexus as currently producing the best looking range of car (not singular, but plural - range). In fact I like all of them.

... and the lights are going all latest-shape-Prius, in a bad way.

oh dear

Yes, the Astra was undoubtedly prominent on their mood wall...

I have to say that I followed an IS the other day and thought it looked very modern and sharp from the rear. The current Lexus grill does challenge my sense of reasonable though and the strange silver bit around the rear lights of the LC500 is unnecessary.
Nice Guy Eddie

It doesn't work to my eye but I got to applaud Lexus for being individual. So many cars look the same its nice to have something genuinely fresh
Twelfth Monkey

Looks like a melted Hot Wheels car.
Bob Sacamano

I think it looks great, 21st century. It looks like it's doing 100mph standing still and the side profile is exquisite. A numberplate in the centre of the spindle grille will lessen the visual impact, much in the same way all modern Audis look like munters from the front if you remove the plate.
TreVoR

I agree that the side profile is stunning - very TVR IMO - like an elongated T350.  I don't like the front but a number plate would improve it.
Dr. Hfuhruhurr

I even like the front - the "spindle" grille actually seems to work in these proportions. And as others have said about the Buick, it has a strong identity, rather than bits of Jaguar, Aston and Bentley influence.

Bit like the Audi grill, no one complains about it on the R8.
Big Blue

Nothing can redeem that grille.

Nothing.

Quite - I think a 'good looking Lexus' is a relative term!
