Forza

Has anyone finished it yet?  I grinded away for about 4 hours yesterday and have finished year 4.  Im at driver level 47, once i get to 50 i will be hiring a driver for the last 2 years.
Matt

I'm about 50% through the events. Didn't like season mode.

Ditto. Also at level 50. Starting to get a bit jaded when you've unlocked most of the good stuff.

How much time do you put in per week?  Max Headroom has completed the grid, i am considering it but for me it will be done entirely with a hired driver, am only doing it now for the acheivments.
Matt

My hours racing will be at least half of the hours I've put in painting. I'll post my stats later. They highlight the obsession the game has had on my life for the last year...
Tim

I think I've completed half the events list.

I've stayed away from the Le Mans Prototype races, etc and been working through with the lower powered cars first so as not to sicken myself going from something light & powerful back to something heavy & slow in a later race.

Mind you Call of Duty, GTA IV, Halo Reach and Battlefield have all got in the way of doing this over the last year
Matt

Those stats I mentioned:

miles driven: 5,411
average speed: 83.6 mph
time driven: 64 hours, 44 minutes
top speed: 212.8
time spent in menus: 345 hours, 19 minutes
time spent upgrading: 12 hours, 52 minutes
time spent tuning: 17 minute, 34 seconds
time spent editing designs: 177 hours, 23 minutes
time in auction house: 10 hours, 42 minutes
time in storefront: 33 hours, 25 minutes
time spent test driving: 12 hours, 44 minutes

And most of that was clocked up before I was unemployed.
Tim

Matt wrote:

That implies that you spent more time in a menu than you did actually playing every other part of the game

Are you indecisive Matt or were you playing the Limited Edition "Indian Call Centre" version of the game?
DradusContact

I have'nt played since finishing year 4.  Gone back and done a big on project gotham 4.  Its not as realistic as forza but there is something to be said for driving across the brooklyn bridge at 210 mph, or flying through london in a delorean in a rain storm.
Matt

I quite often watch the cars on the menu after I've bought or painted it and I also leave it on a menu when coming on the 'pooter or having tea.

I'm getting the new Ultimate Collection next week with the Stig's garage (SLS, LF-A and Koenigsegg CCR) and I think it's ten other cars including a Jag D-Type and Porsche 550 Spyder.

When i first got my 360 i used to have a projector set up in the loft.  i used to love leaving the screen on fullscreen veiw of a rotating car, a nice F40 or something revolving looked immense.
Matt

I ordered the Ultimate Collection from Play.com to get the extra cars, but I also won early access to the three Stig's Garage cars via twitter, so if anyone wants the other code when I get my boxed copy, it's yours.

Only if you don't intend to buy the FUC, though or else you'll get it anyway.
Matt

Matt

I have the code now if anyone wants it.
him

^^^ I'd like the code if you don't mind?
Matt

PM sent.

Thanks Matt...

I got the 100k drift points in one lap last night, it asked me did i want to upload at the end of the race so i did.  There is no video on my profile though, was hoping the video would be there.  It must of just been a ghost or something i uploaded.

Matt

Happy with every one of them.
Matt

Delorean, about time!!  you can drive one in PGR4 but in its standard form its a bit lacking.  Being about to zoop it up will be cool.
Matt

The speedo only goes to 85 inside the car! It's a lovely handler as stock, so with the twin-turbo upgrade, even though that only nets 165bhp, it should still be a nice drive.
BeN

I'm going to turn it on just to download them now.

Tried to get Forza finished off over the holiday using a hired driver.  Made some good progress, got  my career stat from 46% to 51%.  Piss take.
DradusContact

Up to 82%, had it running practically constantly for the past week, with a hired driver.  Hoping to get it done this weekend.
Humphrey The Pug

Havent played Forza for yonks, I dig it out and get bored whithin 20 minutes, haven't a clue how far into the game I am.

*edit* Just looked on X-Box Live and I'm 66% into it, more than I thought, all done properly too, no hired driver.
DradusContact

That your single player career or just the achivements?
Humphrey The Pug

I have 615/1000 points and 33/50 achivements.

Does that help?
DradusContact

Thats your cheevo score.  To see how far in the career you are you need to go to 'my profile' in the main game.  I am trying to get the 'solid gold' cheevo, which is complete the race grid.  I think there are around 900 races in total.
Humphrey The Pug

Ahhh right, thanks, may have a look tonight.
Pete

Good to see people still playing this. I still spend most of my time making copying liveries of real cars.
BeN

After losing my save I've lost interest. I don't want to start all over again.

Shall wait for Forza 4.

Wouldn't got as far as to say i was playing it anymore.  Just using a hired driver to finish the gird.  Once i got to driver level 50 i havent raced myself once.

What is the point if you arent playing it, do you get bonus cars or anything?

The adulation of his peers...
Humphrey The Pug

Just been playing Forza for the past hour or so, I'm on level 50 but only 18.7% of the way through, how long is this game?!
Pete

God knows, i can't be bothered completing games. I only race to get money to make cars! IF anyones on, I might play in a bit. I've just made a new Impreza that is slow, but I like driving

Giant wrote:

Xbox live achievments.  Theyre like trophies you get for doing certain tasks in games.  They have no worth in real terms but i am very proud of my score.  Each retail games ships with 1000 points in total with the possibility of it being raised with additional downloaded content.  My culmulative score accross all games is 76k.

There are 220 events which total to exactly 909 races, 10 of which are hour-long endurance races.

Got my 1000 points.  Now uninstalled from my HDD probably never play it again.  Put me off racing games for a while.

If you put games onto the HDD do they load quicker as Forza takes an age when loading a race?
DradusContact

Yes!  You should do that with all games really, esp as you have got a 250gig hdd.  It runs queiter and cooler too so less chance of an over-heat.
Humphrey The Pug

Tina is out tonight so I may spend the evening loading games on.

No need to do everything, but just stuff that your likely to be playing.  On mine at the minute i've got about 4, Red Dead Redemption, Left 4 Dead 1&2 and a couple of others.
Max Headroom

Well after last nights TG i bobbed onto forza built a replica of the placid volvo and went racing.

I'm approaching 500 cars purchased and a garage value of £100 million. I play forza a lot. and every car has been painted to some degree or other.

Annoyingly i'm missing a few of the extra cars...
Humphrey The Pug

I don't get the painting thing on the cars, I just take what I have and drive it, I haven't bought anything either.
Humphrey The Pug

Played last night for going on two hours.

Gone from 18 odd% to 19 odd%, in two hours!!

I think I've worked out that level 50 is the highest level.

Done most of my achievements apart from a couple of racing ones and the rest are buying and selling and paint jobs and I can't be arsed with those, oh and uploading photo's and similar.

So I think I'm done with Forza now.
DradusContact

The buying and selling ones are easy peasy mate, just put something up for 1000 credits and i will buy it.

Have you got to the end of year 6?  you get a 50g cheevo for every year so thats a healthy 300 for the 6 years.

Don't know what year I'm in, can't see it but a good stat is out of 250 races, I've been on the podium 248 times and won 231 of them.
Max Headroom

Come back and brag when you can match mine, lol, 2372 races, 2356 podiums and 2348 wins. I think my total race time is something like 450 hours!

The car painting thing is probably a creative bent i;ve always had. I used to scrape paint of my matchbox cars to colour them with a felt tip when i was little. Not my greatest success.

DC said i'd clean up with my designs if i ever go online...
Matt

I did the same with my matchbox when I was going through a phase. Black permanent marker seemed so cool at the time!
DradusContact

I used to smash my cars up so give them a damaged look.  Not too much that they would be un-playable with though.
Max Headroom

Sad Day in my life:

I returned home from school keen to watch josie and the pussycats in outer space (motor mouse and auto cat had finished) to discover a giant hole in my bedroom where my tea chest of cars used to be.

Hysterical screams later and my mother nonchalantly says 'oh yes i sold them to a man down the road for his young lad, you're far too old to be playing with that kind of thing. On the enjoyment scrapheap at 11.

I went straight to the blokes house and stared at the lounge window. sadly the curtains were pulled.

It only dawned on me years later that my mother had pocketed the cash!
Matt

Got the painting bug again. I even took the finished result out for an actual race...!

him

^^^ I hope you kept both hands on the controller...
