Ford Direct or Ford Approved

My Sister in Law has a Kuga which she has had for about 5 years now. It does everything she wants and having had a look around she can't find anything that she prefers in the price range she has.

She saw this advertised:

http://www.ford.co.uk/Approved-us...19160&dealer=91159AA&id=0

She has asked me what is the difference between Ford Direct and Ford Approved and all I can think is that the Ford Direct Cars are registered for Ford staff etc and then sold in to the dealer network a bit later. This car is a 16 plate with only 8 miles so it has either suffered a terrible fate, been repaired and is now up for sale or it has been sat around for 6 months and no-one wanted it.

The Ford Direct cars seem to have 2 years warranty but is that in addition to the 3 year warranty or instead of it? (or only of use if the car is more than one year old?)

Can anyone help?

My dad's Mondeo was Ford Direct. They are ex management or staff. His had a two year warranty, not three. It was a year old when he got it - not sure on the miles. It was decent value, especially with Ford Finance.

Cbeaks is your man to ask though.

Essentially approved are inspected good quality used cars and come with the warranty balance and 1 year roadside. These would be sourced by the dealer. The scheme allowed the dealers to be able to advertise their older used stock on Ford.co.uk as it is all inspected to be the right standard.

Ford Direct are fully reconditioned by Ford and have 2 year warranty and 2 year roadside. They will be management cars (Essex reg plates) or demo fleet (normally AK plates).

The Ford Direct stuff is little like new.

So this one looks like it was demo stock but never used.

I now just need to get her arse in gear because she has a habit of procrastinating, missing out and then moaning about it!

If interested in new there are some strong Black Friday deals next week.
TreVoR

Interesting, my dad's is an AK.

Thanks I will pass that on. I presume all dealers will have the deal?

They will. If they might be interested in new PM me their name and address and I'll raise a voucher for Ambassador for them. The only real rule is they would have to keep for 9 months at least.

If we do that just get them to tell the sales team they have the voucher. Worth a fair few quid on a Kuga.

Many thanks, much appreciated.

Half price Mustangs?
cbeaks1

Sadly, if predictably, Mustang and RS are among the exclusions

It's not going to happen this week I'm afraid. The brother in law doesn't want to spend any more money before Christmas and he will look in the Spring. I think that is code for he has now got his tax bill for January and he hasn't saved enough!
