First attempts at 'florography'In the garden, this afternoon...

I've only recently started to shoot florography. Makes a nice change - as long as you aren't trying to capture a macro and the wind is constantly blowing.

I wanted to get a few blossoms before they all disappear. Was nice to be able to send them to Joe in the US. Remind her what she's missing and all that!

I didn't realise you had a garden! Don't know why I thought that to be honest.
Took these at Heligan on Muvvers Day. I'm rather pleased with some of them, especially the Lady Bird on the Rhododendron. The camera certainly flatters the user.
Not a flower I know, but another i'm pleased with.

All lovely. I have a lot of this sort of stuff, very limited DoF to the point of just really being almost abstract forms and colour.

And a Sigma 10-20mm does a decent enough job replicating macro...

Matt,
The OOF/bokeh is a bit 'odd' in those pics - not a critisism of the pics - but an odd lens effect.
Anyway, I've been meaning to do some flower photos for a while - with the decent weather I'll have to do so soon.

The result of me spinning a daisy between my fingers while snapping with my phone. Thought it was unusual the way the petals were captured at the top and bottom of the pic.

Woah, that's quite the optical illusion.
