F1 Game 2015 - Abu Dhabi - the final

So this is it, the end of the longest season ever (or has it just seemed that way?)

The real championship is long decided, but the forum one is still up for grabs. What you need to do is guess the top ten finishers, the pole person and fastest lapper, and answer the bonus question: the time between first and second place finishers - one point for the closest.

Deadline: Friday 27 November 2359 GMT

Standings after previous race:

184 - Chris M
177 - Scouse
176 - Sav
165 - Dr H, JohnC
153 - Eff One
151 - Humphrey, the other ct
------------
144 - Big Blue
142 - BeN
139 - PhilD
115 - Giant
97 - Tim
92 - Chocy Rocky
91 - Gooner
89 - Skyhook

Everyone above the dotted line can still win (at least jointly)

This is far, far more exciting than the real thing!

That wouldn't be difficult. Now Mercedes have started fixing it for Rosberg to win some races, it's even more tedious.
Scouse

Pole: Hamilton
Fastest: Hamilton
Bonus: 2.5 seconds

1) Hamilton
2) Rosberg
3) Vettel
4) Raikonen
5) Bottas
6) Massa
7) Ricciardo
8) Nasr
9) button
10) Alonso

You watch, now that I've made changes, Hamilton will come back on form.

* edited to go back to my original picks. Not changing the line up for ages has seen me to second place so far and I have a sneaking suspicion that Hamilton is going to want to slap Rosberg down going into the closed season

Wow! That line just cut me adrift without any thought for my pride or dignity!

Why don't I just change my name to "loser"?

Looks like I can't be bothered then!
Sav

It is interesting to see the Ferrari out on track. In the daytime the front looks reluctant to turn in, but then the rear steps out on corner exit. As the sun sets and the temperatures go down, it looks like a much better car – much keener front end and without the oversteer on exit.

Some of that could be down the natural grip and downforce gained as the temperatures fall, but I think a few teams, including Williams are also concentrating on what matters, night time running that will be representative of the conditions in Q3 and in the majority of the Grand Prix.

With the consistency of Vettel's long run yesterday, if you put Vettel out front tomorrow I don't believe either Mercedes would have enough to pass him - the Ferrari has excellent long run pace.

Rosberg’s older engine is definitely hampering him in the speed trap, but he seems to ace the first sector where straight line speed isn't that important. However, Hamilton’s strength over the years has always been the final sector at Abu Dhabi.
Sav

Grand Prix Sunday!

The first priority before the Grand Prix starts is repairing the barrier at turn 3. In GP2 three cars smashed into the outside tec pro barrier after someone was stationary to oncoming traffic, and the barrier blocks and the barrier itself became dislodged. It was actually a little worrying because there was a fire, but because all three cars were stuck to each other, the marshals were struggling to attend to the fire.

Congratulations to Esteban Ocon for winning the GP3 title. Unlike F1 or GP2, GP3 had a proper title showdown in Abu Dhabi. European F3 Champion, GP3 Champion, and a Mercedes Grand Prix junior – if either Hamilton or Rosberg feel like leaving it looks like the team has some great talent to utilise.

Pole Rosberg
Lap Hamilton

2 Hamilton
3 Räikkönen
4 Vettel
5 Perez

8 Massa
9 Grosjean
10 Kvyat
11 Sainz

Scores

10 - Eff One
8 - Dr H, Big Blue, PhilD, JohnC
6 - Scouse, Sav

Deemed (6 points)

Humphrey, the other ct, BeN, Giant, Tim, Chocy Rocky, Gooner, Skyhook

Final standings

196 - Chris M
183 - Scouse
182 - Sav
173 - Dr H, JohnC
163 - Eff One
157 - Humphrey, the other ct

So not that dramatic after all - Chris was in the lead before the last race, and top scored, so is quite a comfortable winner - congratulations! And thanks for playing, all!
Humphrey The Pug

Deemed 6 points, I will admit that I couldn't be arsed, hence why no predictions from me.
Big Blue

Congrats to Chris. It's not all gloom and doom

Thanks Nick. Best thing about the season was the game.

Thanks indeed, maybe the start of something bigger !

Well done Chris and many thanks to the Doctor. I used to find myself watching races thinking about my points rather than the race itself.
BeN

Thanks Doc for running the game. And congrats Chris. A nice Christmas pressie for sure.
Scouse

Second place is a bloody good result for me. Hard to say whether the stubbornness was a help or a hindrance for the final three races.
Thanks Doc and congratulations Chris.
Humphrey The Pug

Yes thanks Doc for running this and congrats Chris; nice to see someone other than Sav at the top!
Eff One

Thanks Dr H - great job as usual.
Sav

Very well done Chris! Thoroughly deserved, and the winner also happens to be a great guy in real life as well.

Thanks to the good Doc for running this game, much appreciated.
