I love the paragraph about the supposed new teams being unable to afford 45m euros let alone 100m euros to enter the forth coming season, so really all that bollocks from the FIA about new teams coming was just that, bollocks.
Now the budget cap row has been sorted lets hope F1 can get through the remainder of the season without another row taking over!!

Why am I not surprised...
I said at the start of the season that I would feast on my headgear if there are 3 new teams in F1 next year - I still hold that view.

I hope Toyota go, they don't bring an awful lot to Formula One.
Prodrive would be brilliant for F1, however.

I don't hope that Toyota go but I wouldn't be surprised if they do.
What I think is ironic is that the FIA are after a budget cap but if there are less than 20 cars next season a few teams will be required to run a third car, hold on a moment wont that push up the costs to run a team!?

It is not quite the end of the row over the budget cap as the FOTA teams have signed up on the condition that the FIA conceeds to their demands. If the FIA does not conceed then they will pull out.

2) The basis of the 2010 regulations will be the current 2009 regulations, amended in accordance with proposals that FOTA has submitted to the FIA.
All FOTA teams’ entries for the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship have been submitted today on the understanding that (a) all FOTA teams will be permitted to compete during the 2010 Formula One Season on an identical regulatory basis and (b) that they may only be accepted as a whole.
All FOTA teams now look forward with optimism to collaborating proactively and productively with the FIA, with a view to establishing a solid foundation on which the future of a healthy and successful Formula One can be built, providing lasting stability and sound governance. |
