I thought that too. This from the BBC in December 2007. Maybe it never went ahead? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7135125.stm The film report says that 100,000 Lada workers will produce 130,000 cars this year. |

I imagine the work process might be a bit behind the times, i imagine alot of the welding and that is still done by hand, hence the slow build speed. |
