Dear Santa

Giant

For the first time, it occurs to me that the CClass looks rather like a Rover 75
Martin

Does it also look like the E Class?

The new E63 does look and sound pretty special.
Nice Guy Eddie

One of these please, can't think of a better daily

Amazing how the silver painted rim turns black alloys from naff to spaff.

612 bhp and 4wd is quite handy too.

I read recently in a German magazine that Rover 75's are an appreciating asset.
JohnC

I quite like the new E Class looks and in 4wd with all those horses I find it very appealing. I'd still have silver wheels.

Does that mean the C Class looks like a Rover 45 then?

My thought immediately, then I scrolled down and saw your comment.

I've been browsing MG ZT 260's recently, and having driven my in laws 75 was very impressed with it as a mile muncher.

I guess for run of the mill ones, then values got so low, they can only go upwards. For V8's then they've been rising for a while, albeit slowly.

I genuinely couldn't work out which it is. The only discernable difference seems to be the crease running along the flank, which I can't see at all in that picture!
Big Blue

What will it ride like? How will it handle? How many C200s will have that same look?

Alas as a Mercedes admirer of old nothing in the current line up interests me. Maybe the GL (or GLS as it now is) just to fuck Range Rover sheep off.

Agreed, I always thought I'd buy myself a Benz one day but I can't really warm to them these days but they sell loads of cars and therefore they probably don't give a toss. I see a current C200d Sport every morning at FB Juniors pre-school club and I can't decide which is the worst bit; the truly, truly awful wheels or melted lozenge arse.
Racing Teatray

I saw a new E-class the other day and I have to say it's a very smart piece of design that works better than the S-Class and C-Class to my eyes.

The only bit I dislike is the grille. That size of Merc should have the old-school cheese-grater job with the gun-sight star on top.
Chip Butty

It is a very handsome car- it would have to drive like complete dog shit to not be my default choice in the sector.

E63 AMG is the yeti's plums.
Blarno

Drifting further away from engine size relating to badge I see.

Although E40 wouldn't wave the willy quite enough would it?
Chip Butty

Well, ignoring the fact that the 3.0 litre 6 pot turbo just launched is called the E43 - if Merc badged based on engine capacity today....

E210D - low
E210D - Mid
E210D - Hi
E300D

E200 - low
E200 - Mid
E200 - Hi
E200 - Hi Hybrid
E30 AMG

Much easier to go :

E200D
E220D
E250D
E350D

E200
E250
E300
E350h
E43 AMG

Basically an rs6 but with steering ,a winner ! But on the downside I haven't seen a new eclass estate but the previous e63 estate is an ugly mother of a car
A very fast hearse.
