Clarkson on the 500

Or, as usual, mostly not on the 500 and mostly having a spot-on whinge about driving in London:

Either way, enjoyably written.

Very good.

I'd love a 500 soft top. Not sure about the turbo engine in city driving though.

Yes I had a 500C rental last year. Great fun.

He gets a slagging off, but there's no-one more enjoyable to read is there?

You can enjoy his writing and still slag him off

When I read wheezing communist in the paper last Sunday, I did chuckle. Classic Clarkson.

Clarkson at his best - this is where he excels, but I guess from his point of view the money that comes in from arsing about on Top Gear is where the money was.

I only went in a 500 for the first time last week - a friend finally bought one after first wanting one six years ago - seems a very agreeable little car, some sort of sporty spec with a very nice interior.

I am a big fan of our Twinair, which despite being in full-retro spec with cream interior leather fittings and lashings of chrome (wife's choice), is a most charming car and amusing to drive.

Great bit of Clarkson.

The 500 has matured quite nicely. Thankfully it's not yet the fat parody of itself that the MINI has become.
595 Competizione is a bit of a hoot, too.

that's because they haven't changed it! (apart from adding satnav and some LED DRLs as far as I can tell)

It would be much better if it wasn't way too tall / narrow, although the Abarth does disguise that reasonably well.

No, that looks ridiculous!  The wide bottom half makes the top look even narrower too.

Maybe, but it is a bargain!
