Cheap CX

This looked interesting:

Big Blue

They're huge, with switchgear designed by 8 different people sitting in 8 different offices with no communications available.

Great car for a two or three month tour of Europe.
Giant

Love it! I like the poppers to adjust the head rest cushions!
DetmoldDick

Looks a bit of a bargain to me.

Not if it doesn't have aircon!  I remember long (August) holidays in Europe in the back of my Dads Renault 20s and SD1, slowly cooking in the back.  it was heaven when he got a Granada with aircon in 1986, especially as that was when we started venturing as far as Italy.

That is one big ugly bugger with a whole 106 bhp (probably a lot less now). I'd run a mile. I remember even brand new CXs always managed to look slightly knackered, adopting a collapsed look when parked, with sheet metal that seemed to be  so thin it would dint if you just looked hard enough at it.

A nice GTi or Turbo 2 I can get a little excited about but a white Safari screams ambulance. Something Jean Claude should be serving snails out the back of.

Wonderful, and give it a few years and these will be getting up towards £10k.

The CX is rapidly becoming a popular alternative to the DS for those who either prefer their modernity or on a tighter budget and, again the XM will only go one way but that will be a while yet (and electrical issues related to dry connections can plague them).

The Safari is an incredible vehicle, and if have no qualms using one as a daily driver as they are reliable and comfortable.

I knew I'd seen it before somewhere!

Can you imagine the pisstake you'd have to endure everywhere you turned up, with people shouting "Who you gonna call?".

It's silver.

With apologies to all you Citronists, but to my eyes the several-shades-of-blue plastic interior is hideous. Sorry.

Indeed. I would love that.

Finally managed to see it; it wouldn't load up on the work pooter, that is seriously cool, I love it: grubby seats and all!
