BMW HP2 Sport

All that I know about it so far:

- 1170cc twin
- 128bhp
- 84.8 ft-lbs of torque
- around £14,000!
Matt

Wow. They've nearly achieved Ducati levels of style with that. I love it.
.

Hmmm, you're right Matt.  Even I think that looks quite good and im not exactly renound for my liking of things with two wheels.

Now, what are the M-Sport options for this and will it be available in Le Mans Blue?
D.

I think it looks fabulous.  Only problem is that at this price (according to MCN) it's up against some stunning machinery.

For £5000 less there are the R1's, GSXR1000's, ZX-10's, etc.  But even worse for the BMW is that for the same price is the Ducati 1098, MV Augusta F4, Benelli Tornado, and even BMW's own K1200S.

It is lovely, but I'd take the 1098 is a heartbeat.

Sure, it's lovely-looking, but your average sportsbike rider is never going to have one of these over pretty-much any of the competition. The relatively asthmatic, 84-year-old flat twin, shaft drive and the price tag will see to that.

Let me see... a new Honda Fireblade for £5000 less, or the BMW...?

Now, the rumoured BMW MotoGP-inspired sportsbike - that'll be worth waiting for.
Jasper

Looks good.........Sorry that's all I know about bikes.
Blarno

Single sided swingarms - Awesome.

I agree, Ian... And the prime exponent is:

VFR750............Mmmmmmmmm. Love the wheel too, looks like a shortcake biscuit.

I so nearly bought a VFR400 (Or was it an RVF400?) a few years back. I wish I had now.
kraftwerk

Crucially, this is a VFR750R (RC30). The VFR750 is a lovely bike, but...

I was looking at VFR400RRs (NC30) just before I bought the 'Blade. They're getting so hard to find in original UK spec. Most are imports with zero history, KM/H clocks etc.

Lovely, isn't it...?

D.

I still have a road test of the RC30 in a mag somewhere....still love it.
Big Blue

My previous steed was a single-sided NSR250R (MC28) with a credit card for ignition.  It was luvverly but I am too old and fat for a screaming 2 stroke

We nearly bought an NC30 a few years back but Sarah fell off it in the car park of the dealership    and it put her off for a bit.

Mind you she then went and put down a deposit on a CBR400RR which looks pretty similar apart from the wheels and having a normal swingarm.

That was a beautiful bike.
Blarno

It was an NC30 I nearly bought, off a mate. L reg, import I think, but bugger me was it a flying machine. He did, say, it wasn't quite as manic as the Yamaha RGV250 that preceeded it.

He now owns a highly modified Fireblade; No fairings, uprated engine, different rear swing arm. It's a proper street-bike wheelie machine.
