That is Rankety Rank, Cheque Book and Pen. Still, the BMW fan-boys will lap it up, there will be something 'just so' about the bumpers, completely bypassing that it looks like a parked dogs breakfast.

Keep it au-natural

No thanks! Not what a 5 series is about.

+1. That looks awful
Blarno

Wheels nicked off a Skoda Octavia VRs.
Nelson

Rank

however...change the exterior colour to a darkish grey and then see what that black trim line looks like. Not saying it;ll work but if you must have a black trim along the side best not start with white as the background..i'd be interested to see what a dark grey does

Only thing I like is the vRS nicked wheels
Sav

The M Performance bodykits look awful. The side skirts look particularly dreadful.
Big Blue

If you must have a trim line down the sides it needs to say Alpina.

That's vile to say the least.
Michael

That looks absolutely shit. Kia or a similar brand would rightly get laughed at if they knocked that out. BMW are taking the piss.

All M Performance bodykits look ridiculous. I always chuckle when I see something like a 220i or 228i loaded up with M Performance guff at like 33k……almost the same price of a new M240i. M Performance sideskirts and other nonsense or six cylinders? Not a hard choice.

WTF

Black/dark grey stripes towards the lower door edges, between the wheels are acceptable, the rest isn't ;-)

As someone who loved bmw's I find it awful that I cant think of one car they made in the last ten years that i have any desire for whatsoever. The 6 series gc is lovely to look at but far too big.

Just to be clear: it won't look like that unless you chuck the entire dealer-fit MPerformance catalogue at it. Which has been possible on 1/2/3/4-series for some time already.

You can be pretty certain that each of the alloys, darkened bumper bits, black grilles, funny sills and odd stripe are not factory-fit. They are a way of winkling money out of the aforementioned "fanboi" element. Works well by all accounts.

I've seen quite a few small engine 3 series saloons with all that kit on them - they could've spent the money on more 'go' but presumably that doesn't look as good parked outside the gym, especially when your base model only has an M badge and no other identifier
