BMW 1-Series saloon.

I like that.  Looks pretty cohesive to me.

All blinged up in show spec that looks good to me. The "photo" of the interior looks more like an artists impression but I reckon that is a better resolved design than the 3 series, overall.
Martin

Looks good

+1
Blarno

3 Series at 70%.
Humphrey The Pug

Looks alright, I'm seeing a few A3 saloons about; they look pretty good too.
simonp

So, is it a 1 with a boot, or a 2 with more doors?
Blarno

It's a 1.75 Series.
Roadsterstu

Never mind that, I want a Hongqi L5.
simonp

I assume that's pronounced honky?
TreVoR

US$800,000!!!!
JohnC

I particularly like the door handles (or lack of them) on the BMW. You can keep the "Honky"

Make mine a 135i saloon

I love the idea of an M235i Gran Coupe, and was hoping that BMW would launch a 2-Series Saloon of the current generation to compete with the A3 Saloon and CLA. This 1 or 2 Series saloon will probably be based upon BMW's UKL architecture, so we'll just have to see what hot version they launch.
Blarno

Also, either the rear door window is fixed or they will fit a quarterlight on the production model. After all, they've got to get their little Hoffmeister kink in somewhere.

I like that a lot - though a shame the interior is not for production

Looks production ready to me.

Looks production ready to me.

Exactly. But it'll be made boring and unattractive instead.

But why go the trouble of making it look production ready, why not just do a typical concept interior with a holographic display and seats made from recycled bamboo? Which bits do you think will go?

The concept looks to have frameless windows, so that could make this the 2 Gran Coupe concept?
Grampa

Very nice. The size of the one series sort of gets back to the 3's earlier days - and, if forced into a BMW saloon, I would take this over a 3 any day.

I rather like that Hongqi L5 too!

Just realised, on closer look, that this must be based on the front-wheel drive platform. Check the front overhang, and the position of the front wheels relative to the doors.

Possible - these are all the BMW/Mini variants that Autocar reckoned were coming from the UKL platform:

I saw another article from America somewhere stating it's BMWs "first front wheel drive sedan". So looks like it is, but will probably have X drive as an option.

The five door mini picture on that image is even more tragic than the real thing!
PhilD

the 5 door hatch?

Looking at those images makes me feel confused and then a bit cross. Why do BMW keep messing with my head like this?
