Best looking BMW 2?

Tone down some of the OTT details and this would be a fantastic looking car...

That's the 2002tii homage from Villa d'Este?
Grampa

yes to the 2002 homage - don't know about Villa d'Este

Looks like V d'E to me. Not sure about rear lights at BMW currently. The 2-coupe has too small a set and the revised 1-series hatch has gopping horrors compared to the original.
Giant

Too small?! To my eyes they are far too big!
Martin

I've got used to the rear lights on the current 1 series, I think they look OK and the front is much better.  Don't like the rear end of the 2 coupe.

That concept was at Pepple Beach with 'Turbomeister' livery.

The rear of the 1series looked shit with its Polo lights, the face-lift vastly improved it.

And at Goodwood this year. I took many a picture of it as it looked fabulous. To bad they couldn't make the M2 based on the 2002

I really like the 2-Series Coupe, including the tail lights. It looks E46-sized to my eyes, and I donít need anything bigger. The tail lights give it a cute look, and they look sufficiently different compared to the generic tail lights on some other BMWís. In an age of manufacturers producing very similar looking cars, I appreciate that the 2-Series doesnít look like other BMWís.

The headlights are a definite improvement on the LCI 1-Series, but the tail lights look too bland. I also donít like the M Sport LCI front bumper, the original looked more aggressive. Itís almost like theyíve tried to adopt some of the styling cues from their SUVís but it doesnít look quite right on a hatchback.

Someone put the nose of a 2-Series on an original M135i, and that to me was ideal.

At the risk of moon-bootery, I don't agree, proving if nothing else, that taste is as ever entirely subjective!

+1

When I spoke to my BMW sales guy about getting into a 135i I was rather open about how shit the 1 series looks and how it could be that the facelift made the car look even worse. He seemed a bit taken aback and said I was the only one who doesn't like the facelift. Now I know he's got to big up his products but surely most people prefer the 'Polo' lights to what we have now.
Big Blue

Yep. The LCI rear end is very Hyundai / Kia.
Grampa

are we talking about the ordinary 1/2 rear lights or the 2002 hommage - I don't see anything wrong with the former and, to my eyes, the latter looks as good from the rear as it does from the front: http://i.haymarketindia.net/Galle...6-bmw-2002-hommage-concept-12.JPG

Sorry for the repeat, I didn't see it then.

I spent two weeks with a 1-series in August, and ended up preferring both front and rear restyle. Also liked the way that even 225/45-17 rear tyres filled the arches properly. Also really liked the 1.5 three-pot turbo motor.
