Been looking at XJRs

Slim pickings to be honest - X308s are either mangy old mogs or average cars with dreamer price tags..

This, on the other hand, looks to be a bit of a peach

And it's now heading towards your drive?

WOW!

I hope one of us has bought that.

Nice colour but otherwise about as Giffer-spec as an XJR gets!!

I always thought the XJR was more differentiated than that, but short of a badge and some slightly phat exhausts, that looks just like a standard XJ. Even the alloys are pretty restrained.

Must ride well...

XJR's  - lovely.

Great external colour and has the wood inside which I much prefer. But the brown steering wheel and lack of sat nav screen (just looks better even if you don;t want nav) makes that a "no" from me.

When I looked at XJR's before I bought the XF, even finding one in an OK spec - good colour, wood, black dash, sat nav - was a pretty hard feat.

The old rule of immaculate house equals immaculate car looks true here.

Very nice. An older mate of mine who lives in Thailand bought a Silver XJR for 7k last year and once its been in his missus name for a year can apparently export back to Thailand. Perfect car for the job he reckons especially as it replaces his horrifically import taxed boggo E-class.

I haven't bought this - and to be honest, I am not sure I would go X350 for a second car ( I really want an X308 ).

Apparent condition and value of this car is undeniable though - X350 interiors are lovely, it's the outside I struggle with. Obviously I would much prefer black interior with either walnut or the mars bar sports wood, but condition should override all at this price range. I think the original owner picked the " classic " interior theme.

Personally, I would want to avoid the sat nav/touch screen equipped cars. The graphics on what is now a 12 year old system are ZX spectrum levels of gashery and unpleasantness. It's also one more thing not to go pop.

I also like the 19 inch alloys in lieu of the spankly 20 inch Sepangs that are an arse to keep nice and look undertyred.

I hope it's not me.

My cash would be going here.
Black and wood interior, British Racing Green, lovely wheels, low miles.

Not really my thing, but that is very nice indeed. Much nicer with those wheels and a black interior.

Don't worry Martin. One day you'll get over your fascination with Porsche convertibles and get into some decent cars.

I've not done too badly over the years!

Oh and I was after something more than just decent this time.....!

As someone that has had a car with those crossbolt style wheels: avoid them like a man with the plague carrying an Uzi and looking agressive.

Two people have bought XJR's recently on another forum I frequent.

One a rattly X308 for 2K which he's rapidly fallen out of lust with.

The other a gorgeous X350 similar to those posted 2005ish, low miles, one elderly owner and about 7K. He loves his.

One on the bucket list but I fear time might be against me. I'd want an X350 nowadays I think.
