Beautiful CitroensSeeing both a DS and an SM recently, and the new C5 has got me thinking.
Which is the best looking Citroen of all time?
My vote is for the SM. Amazing car, a true traffic stopper

I've always really liked the Traction Avant, but I'd love to own an SM.

I would say the DS saloon with the later faired-in lights.

DS is amazing but to be frank rather ugly, for me its the SM or a late spec CX GTI Turbo

I'd love an SM, though as Tali says the CX 25 turbo is a great car.

The Traction Avant for me as well, although I do like the DS decapotable and the SM. Someone up the road from me uses a Traction as his everyday transport.

The later DS in Pallas trim which always looked substantially more...er...substantial than anything else of the era and is incredibly sexy.

Loeb's C4 for me.

SM - no question. Not only the most beautiful Citroen, but to mine eyes, the most beautiful car of all time.
I also particularly like the SM Opera - only a handful were built, but how beautiful is this?
GS Pallas - as yet unmatched in the mid-sized motor styling stakes.
DS Chapron Berline Majesty
I could go on all day...

The wonderful thing about old Citroens is that is is actually rather difficult to decide which is the most beautiful, so spoilt is one for choice.
But narrowly, as an object in avant-garde elegance, it has to be the DS.

The SM Opera is gorgeous, it is true.

I generally agree with Kraftwerk and Mrtotty.
There are so many beautiful Citroens, it's hard to single out one. But we went to the Classic Car show at the NEC recently and even my wife had to admit that the two Citroen Sms looked better than the Veyron and the new Jag combined.
Game over: it's the Citroen SM.

Philistine that I am, I still prefer the shape of the CX to either the DS or the SM.

The SM is for me elegance personified. I had forgotten what an honest, clean car the Pallas was, can hold it's own even today. In the 60's/70's Citroen appeared to be run by Jules Verne!
How long has it taken for headlights to follow the steering wheel. Can't wait to have a poke around a new C5.

How very lovely. Vert argent. Love the white wheels, too.

Indeed........... how very splendid.
DS23 definitely the best looking saloon of the range ....... beaten in elegance only by the Decapotable.

You're asking my opinion on a 60s Citroen? You don't expect me not to love it, do you?
