Bargain!

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201401281361923/

I was looking for a car for W2.0 to biff instead of the Alpina and found this....
Tim

I hate beige interiors but that looks incredibly well looked after.

It must be a pensioner special?
TreVoR

The advert rings alarm bells to me.

I would want the MOT history because that steering wheel look awfully shiny for 31k miles, unless someone has really gone to town with the silicone.

The spelling is dubious and there is no mention of how many owners it has had.

The seats and stitching also look too grubby.

It screams "clocked" to me.
Martin

I had one from that era and they hide the miles very well, a great candidate for clocking.  I don't remember my steering wheel being that shiny when it went at over 90k miles, but it could have been cleaned with something horrible.

A viewing would make it obvious.
Michael

I too noticed the shiny wheel and gear lever. That has been clocked.
Mark

It's not a huge deal, but the OSF wheel looks pretty chewed up from kerbing.
Roadsterstu

Maybe not clocked, just used for lots of short trips and never given a regular good clean. Possibly worthy of a closer look, with caution.
Mark

Would the gear selector be that shiny anyway with it being an Auto?

There's also a chance they've just bought the full range of that Armorall shite in Asda and just chucked it at the interior.

I think the latter - I've seen plenty of cars that look clicked because of this stuff - my gamble is some old dear has had her license removed and this is a bit of a peach if your ok with a car that's never been over 2500rpm and probably won't ever manage it. The key is whether it has a mint history or not.

Call or viewing only way of finding out!

Absolutely.

Leather cleaned with the wrong stuff can go very shiny. And beige is hardly a colour that wears well unless you keep it spotlessly clean. On the other hand, it could have been to the moon and back.
Bryan M

Looks a bargain if genuine but that gear lever looks very grubby for only 31k

Especially as itís an automatic. Mind you, previous owner may have had particularly greasy hands...
TreVoR

If you have a look at the wheel spokes, they are nice and matt. The same leather on the rim isn't.
PhilD

This is like CSI
