Autocar: GT-R vs RS Focus

Some nice pics in the article and it seems the Autocar test figures are a bit closer to what you might expect than the EVO test ones

....and a little film clip to go with it which I quite enjoyed

Andrew Frankel is a cock, isn't he? With a patronising presenting style.

Nissan does shift well at 2:36 though

I must have a go in an RS. It really is appealing.

Frankels presenting style is like that of a bad 90's Clarkson just without the hair.

Having experienced the RS I'd definitely like to try the GT-R - must be "GT2 awesome" when it's not reigned in by the roads like on that clip

That's the problem with a car as fast and capable as the GTR (or the great thing about the RS, if you like): finding somewhere to use its capabilities. I sometimes find the GT3 almost too fast for the road.
Twelfth Monkey

At first I was a little surprised that the RS was so close, but then it's been remarked before that beyond a certain level of grunt (and 300 certainly qualifies), under normal conditions it's not the car that impedes progress, it's sanity/a necessary margin/traffic/junctions.

0-60 was two tenths inside Ford's time, but 0-100 in 13.9 looked a little disappointing, because I thought Ford had quoted faster.  It's only when you look at the 0-100 times in the back of the magazine that you realise it's still mighty quick.  For reference 645Ci 13.2, S2000 14.3, Exige 13 flat, CL 500 13.8, Evo X 14.3, and from the golden oldies, NSX 13.7.

At least he's consistent across all types of media then

Oh I dunno.  Colin Goodwin speaks very highly of him...
