Auto ItaliaI know there's quite a few Italian car fans on here and in particular the 156 GTA so I thought I'd mention that Issue 160 of Auto Italia just out has a buyer's guide for the 156 GTA

I have already rubbished it on AlfaOwner. Lots of issues (potential that is) missed out, misinformed opinion taken as fact and sod all in the way of pics of the 147 or SW.
I despair at Auto Italia sometimes, quite why I have it on subscription is beyond me.

I didn't read it all and wouldn't disagree on the technical bits but to be fair, wasn't it a buyer's guide just for the 156?
Mind you, I have to say most buyer's guides for cars I read about seem a bit scanty or have 'obscure' issues to look for

It was advertised as a buyers guide for 156's (still lacks an SW) but the publishers asked for 147 GTA's from the crew on AlfaOwner - then didn't follow up the offers of cars for the photoshoot.
I think you are right, most buyers guides seem to get it only half right, must admit the 'classic' mags seem to do this type of article so much better.

The Total BMW ones are usually quite good. I also think their technical articles are pretty spot on as well.
From what I've seen of AutoItalia, it is a bit "thinner", I've seen articles that appeal on the cover but never bought because the article doesn't tell me anything I don't know.

I bought AutoItalia once and was amazed at the number of mistakes and typos. It just seemed really amateurish.

They were bought out about 4 months ago, things are, shall we say, slightly better.
Never seen such poor proof reading/editing in all my years of magazine reading. But, they still get to drive some amazing cars and some totally obscure ones that you just don't get to see anywhere else.
And even as an Alfa fan I have to admit it's far too Alfa biased, Fiat and Lancia don't get the covereage they deserve.

Unlike Autocar (P. 47) which tells us that the Porsche Cayenne is fitted with 19" wheels and 20" tyres.
