Anyone want an Alpina V8?

Not mine as it's a six, but this one for 5k

Why would you put Goodyear Eagles on the front wheels and Kumho Ecstas on the driven rear wheels!!?

Unless you want to go everywhere sideways....

Looks tasty - oh and the Kumho aren't that bad - in most conditions grip will be damn close to a 'premium' tyre - they don't get the wolds best reviews but far from ditch finders and, in the dry at least, probably perform perfectly ok for most.

Got a bit confused then, I thought that was a post on this forum until I clocked the banner at the top!

Sorry but I can't believe that anyone who looks after an Alpina would put Kumhos on it

Yes, I am also shocked. On the Alpina forum if you don't have Michelin Pilot Sports you are castigated until you sell your car or change the tyres.

(Die Schreibmaschine has Michelin PS )

Nothing wrong with Kumhos, I put them on the Merc and they were the equal of the Contis that were on previously. OK they're not Michelins but Kumho's, Hankooks and Falkens in my experience tend to be a fine tyre for your everyday car.

Often recommended. My Dad has them on his Legacy and they seemed widely recommended for them.

Perhaps Proxes would better suit the image of an Alpina owner

I had to have Kumho's put on the front of my Legacy soon after I bought it, due to the total lack of RE050A Potenzas in the UK! They seemed fine re grip, noise etc, but longevity most certainly was an issue - over half worn after only 7K miles IIRC.

Yes, they are - and on many occassions they fill the gap for odd sizes when the big players have either left the market or charge a fortune.

That belongs to a lad on Barryboys!

Re: Kumhos  - we fit them as the tyre of choice on Mono. Bloody good tyres.

Kumhos are the tyre of choice for those 'in the know' in MG ZT circles. On mine they were better than the Pirellis they replaced.

Seriously considering a pair for the front of the GTI. The ZeroRosso's on at present were new just after I bought the car, and are down to 3.5mm already!! I've done less than 8K miles on them, which is pretty poor. And not caning it (too often!) either.

Green with green leather surely has to be an ideal combo for Racing, does it not?
Racing Teatray

Ha! That's a bit too green for me.

My father had a green Allroad when they first came out, which had a two-tone green leather interior. It was ok but I wouldn't pick it.
