All this talk of big coupes

Has got me thinking of these again - http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C464252

Surely less breakdown potential than a CL?
Michael

The breakdown potential on those is legendary.

I still love these.

That is nice.
Nice Guy Eddie

There's a reason the 8 is cheap, they will no doubt go up in value in a few years but not until its taken a significant amount of your savings with it.
BeN

Always fancied an 8 Series. Maybe not to drive, just to look at.

For me, they have not aged well, very Knight Rider. I do like 928's though, a lot...

A good friend of mine runs an 840i as his daily driver. He is an engineer and says it is easy to work on. But then he also takes his old 7 series "dump car" to bits all the time. So to anybody else, it could bankrupt us.
Tim

I think 8 Series are notorious money pits and since they got down to about 1,500 at one point the majority will have gone through a zero-maintenance stage of their life so even if you buy one that is outwardly good it could still have serious issues bubbling away.
