Abarth 695 Tributo FerrariAnother special edition 500, this one with a paddle shift, Ferrari-tweaked suspension and rosso paint. Oh and 180bhp apparently.

Paddle shifters.
I want that soooo much.

Love the idea of it!
Not sure what the reality of living with the semi-auto would be like - I never got on with the one in my forfour.

Whilst I would never rule out a manual I really do enjoy the system used in the GTA. Fortunately (grasping my large wooden desk) it's a different system to 'ordinary' Selespeed and therefore works 24/7.
As a mad but sensible option this little Abarth would make a nice GTA replacement. It floats my boat in a way the opposition miserably fail to do - especially since Renault turned the 200 into a mustachioed gargoyle.
Interested to see if 'Ferrari suspension tuning' makes a difference.

I love the idea of something like that - but can't/couldn't get along with the ridiculous toytown looks.

It will be interesting to see if the "Ferrari" suspension mods have made it any less "nose heavy" to drive?

Probably makes it less able to negotiate tight corners in Monaco...

The last thing the world needs is another Ferrari-branded item. Especially a car which isn't a Ferrari.

Gurney

Thanfully there appears to be no Ferrari brand marks anywhere on the car, don't know if 'tributo Ferrari' appears on the rump though.

They'll probably be an option - at £4000.

What it doesn't say is that it's only available to Ferrari in a knee jerk reaction to the Aston Cygnet......

I really do like the look of this but i fear it will be priced too steep for a little pocket trinket.

More cynical marketing-driven toss.

What isn't.
But if they charge a fair price for sorted suspension, carbon framed seats, uprated Brembos and a flappy paddle change I would be willing to put up with it.

I also like the idea of a flappy paddle gearshift and wish more smaller cars were available with this rather than manuals.

It'll sell because of the Ferrari affiliation, regardless of whether or not it ends up an understeery, hedge-seeking mess.
I hate it.

Sadly true but at the moment it's affiliation would appear to be in name only and I doubt that would fit on the back. At least it's not plastered with rampant horses like most Ferrari tribprods.
And for those who do like it at least we can wait for the fashionistas to tire of it then buy it cheap(ish).
The seats cost over a grand a piece at present as an option so I can't see this as making any kind of financial sense new.

Nice.

Doesn't appear to have large Ferrari branding. I left it big so you can see the details; I rather like the 4 pointless pipes.

One pipe per cylinder, classic...

Now if they were straight through from each manifold, then it might sound quite tasty!

What does the 695 signify?
If it was a stripped out 'Cup' version with 180 Bhp, then I could see some sense in it. As it stands, if they make it, it'll be dripping in FG, with a limp-wristed gearbox and a long line of Armani-shirted knobjockeys queuing up to buy it because it may have been looked at by someone from Ferrari. Probably the guy who cleans the bogs at the factory.
Is Autoblog and American site? The comments make me think so.
One comment went along the lines of 'Every new incarnation of the 500 makes me want it even more'. I'm the opposite. I never liked it when it was introduced and every new model/concept/designer's brain spunk makes me despise it more and more.
The exhausts look like chops to me. Not pork chops, that would be silly and a damn sight more tasty.

Ah the 'Cup' myth.
So deleting FG makes it faster does it. utter marketing bollocks for morons who think it makes a difference on the road - and who probably enjoy hairshirts to boot.
'Cup' suspension oh yes, that does make a difference. I bet other than round the ring the difference a stripped out Cup Renault (providing it would start) would have over a FG model wouldn't be noticeable.
R26R levels of weight saving fine but anything else....nah.

Calm down dear, it's just an opinion.
Deleting FG and saving weight will make it quicker and more nimble. It's simple science and has been working for Lotus for decades.
Now, if you excuse me, I'm off to see if my shonky French rocket will start...

Italiaspeed now has a pic of the exhaust system (I presume it's the same system) seems it will be available for all petrol 500's. Sadly it ain't a pipe per cylinder but it is pretty trick as such things go. Probably costs an effing fortune.

Sorry Blarno, having a mare of a morning, good luck with froggy, really intrigued as to what was ailing it, sounds like something daft & simple.

That's the Badger thanks H, I would've bet £50 that it was two pipes with double ends, quite surprised to see that it wasn't.

When you've owned many shoddy French motors, knowledge is a good thing.

Interior shots, plus it does have a Ferrari badge on it, of sorts.

Blimey, sorry guys. The last two were apparently low res, according to Autoblog. Seems they host one file and show it at three different sizes.

Careful... GonnaBreakABuggy will be along in a moment to tell you Fiat marinate the seat fixings in saltwater before dipping them in vats full of Ebola and mounting them in spring housings calibrated to make the 'golden shot' when you hit 45 mph.

Gurney

They had a couple of these seats on the floor of the parts dept at Baur Millet, went in for a touch up stick.
They are indeed things of loveliness, not for the fat of arse though that's for sure.

And for those who think 180bhp is pathetic may I suggest the 5th news item down....

260bhp!
Presumably the brass plaque can be transferred to your coffin of choice.
