A short day in Edinburgh

I'm sure some of these have been done before. But as I get to Edinburgh in daylight so rarely, I thought I'd share.

This first one is actually at Croy station - and el loco is an express, doing about 70mph!!

I how many here know what this is?

One of the handsome chap holding on the side!!

A somewhat bizarre sight on Princes Street...

I arrived at Waverley, but daughter stays near Haymarket so headed there to go home. Spotted these guys......

Not a fan of this stuff myself, but surely it doesn't need this kind of treatment?!!

Finally, just outside Haymarket station.

Got one or two of the castle, too, but far too mundane I feel!

I got a few pics of the big tower thing last year when we went last year.  I really regret not seeing more of the city.  We needed a local really as we didnt have a clue where we where, it was a horrible day too.  We spent a few hours shopping and that was it in the end.

Scott Monument on Princes Street - Sir Walter Scott. It's well worth paying the couple of quid to climb the stairs to the top. Nice view on a good day and there's a small museum at the midpoint.

Edinburgh is one of my favourite cities, I'm looking forward to being back there in April.

Been up it enough - we scaffolded it for the stonemasons and restoration work 20 years ago.
