400i morphs to Lagonda

I like 400is as they are universally hated by Ferrari lovers, supposedly for succumbing to the desire for an auto box by the people that actually bought them new. It's also a car very much of its era, which is what classic cars are all about, surely.
Twelfth Monkey

I can still recall one in my granddad's  Motor Show magazine, in a very pale metallic blue.  Liked it then, like it now.  I'd still have a V8 Vantage over one, if you're offering...

An old colleague worked as a nanny in her youth and was given the keys to a 400i to ferry the kids around in.

Isn't this one of Racing's guilty pleasures?
Nice Guy Eddie

A guilty pleasure of anyone with an ounce of petrol running through ones veins

Indeed.
Matt

Much more attractive to my eyes than a Daytona for instance.

Absolutely. My stepmother apparently once went out years ago with a guy who had a number of Ferraris, and I recall her saying that the 400 was the only really comfortable, elegant and usable one.
Alf McQueef

I absolutely love those things!

I used to lust after 512BB's as a kid, I take it they have seen crazy value appreciation now.

Lagonda  and 400 both unwanted- that's why i love them.Richard Burton had a 400 -which is cool ,but he was drunk most of the time. The Ferrari dealer must have saw/smelt him coming.
Frank Bullitt

Guilty pleasure for me too, always had a soft spot for them.
Blarno

You're all mental.

If I wanted an old Ferrari 2+2, which I don't, it would probably be a 308GT4.

To look at? to drive? In every way?
Big Blue

To look at. But then beauty is in the eye of the beholder - how many babies have I been told look beautiful when they look like bald pug-dogs taking a shit?

Obviously my kids all look gorgeous to me; no doubt others see some kind of Shrek family but that's not my business.
Blarno

Mondial. Ugh.
