A snippet from the article read.

Hinting at what had provoked the patient to treat his foreskin in such a cavalier fashion.

And here's me thinking they were Roundheads!

Interesting idea! I had this operation rather late in life following some investigations which involved drilling an additional hole in my helmet (still eating are we, guys?). It was a month before I could shag again and when we did re-attempt the wound ripped open again leading to another enforced 3 weeks celibacy.

And that was a correctly carried out medical procedure: what the fuck chance has this guy got of ever enjoying even a wank again?

"A medic at Lister Hospital in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, has advised men against attempting DIY circumcision with nail clippers,"

Good advice. What was I saying in another thread, no matter how stupid or dangerous something is sooner or later someone will eventually do it.

Did anyone see the program about folk who have a compulsion to do similar?  One chap used a craft knife to cut through the layers of the scrotum and when he go to a testacle he could not think of a reason why he should not remove it.  So he did.  With no analgesia.  Cringeworthy.

A person who may or may not be a patient of mine cut his whole 'helmet' off about ten years ago (long before I knew him!) It's apparently been sufficiently repaired for him to pass water, but that's it.

Ouch, indeed!

I'm glad they've warned against it, I was thinking of trying it myself later but now the hospital says I shouldn't then perhaps it isn't a good idea afterall. Many thanks again to the sound advice of the Ministry for Stating the Bleeding Obvious - where would we be without them?

Oh, yes. Mind you, he was only doing what the voices told him. (I'm being  serious, btw - he was VERY unwell at the time)
