...on my shopping list.

For day to day running I don't want anything to expensive, I'd just worry about where I'd park it, so this will do, I'll chop it if I get bored of it.

Everybody needs a convertible for sunny days and in my eyes, they come no cooler than these

A little toy for the odd journey,

The biggy, this is for special days away,

And finally, my holiday toy. I love this type of car but I just don't think they look right on UK roads, so I'll let my friend, who lives in the states, look after this when I'm not there.

What do you think, have I missed anything?

What would you have?

I wouldn't have just 5, I'd have a warehouse full. But, I'd have a Flying Spur with Mulliner goodness as the family chariot, a Focus ST for daily and an Atom SC for everything else.

And I'd treat them all like cars, not show pieces. They would be used.

No ragtops for me. My MX5 will be converted to full fixed-head coupe and sporting some serious T5age under the nose.

Currently I would like the following four, plus keep the Cayman:

Exige V6 for road and track
Audi R8 V8 manual for relatively affordable and usable exotica
Possibly a TTRS for the 5-pot warble
Perhaps a Megane 265 or other proper modern fast hot hatch.

I would keep the Chimaera and the Benz.

Like Dan, I would like a hot hatch of some description but would also have a Ferrari 355 and a Range Rover.

I'd have the Golf turbocharged for giggles, new RS4 Avant for dog carrying duties, a Megane 265 for day to day, an MP4-12 (I'll save the C bit until I see the convertible version) and probably the petrolhead requisite of a 911 of some sort. It would have to be either modern or old, but not in between. A 70s 2.7RS in Viper Green would fit the bill quite nicely mefinks...

If I won the lottery and had to buy a garage of 5 cars, currently I think I'd have:

Volvo XC60 diesel
Merc AMG E-series estate
Hyundai thing that looks like a copy of the original Merc A-class
Latest 911
Top-of-the-range Galaxy

However I'm sure I could make do with just 2 of the above.  Currently I think I'd need a bigger house before the cars; just bought most of elder daughter's stuff back after her first year at Uni, she's stayed behind for another week or two, and there is only just enough room to get into her bedroom and walk across to the windows to close the curtains at night

Fantasy show pieces that I would still still drive occasionally:
McLaren F1
Porsche 959

Everyday stuff:
Megane 265 Cup.
911 GT3 RS.
McLaren MP4-12C
Range Rover, Supercharged.
A big fuck off motor home.
And maybe an Exige that I can track.

Mmm, that's a few more than five!

OK, so Iíve won the average Sat night jackpot which is £5m. Iíve bought a house near where I live (because itís great area) and I now have a garage and a drive where I can just about fit 5 cars. They all need to be used regularly as space is at premium (though I might stretch to a lockup nearby for one of them) and they also need to fit in to my new life (once Iíve bought the house and the cars and a few other things there isnít much left and I need to work afew days a week. Iíll also have a couple of young children).

Everyday 1 Ė Fiat 500 Twin air
Everyday 2 Ė Maserati GranTurismo
Convertible Ė Merc SL (R107)
Weekends away/trips Ė VW California
Special weekends/nights Ė DB6/Maserati 3500GT/Ferrari 330GT

With a 5m win, why would space be at a premium? First thing I'd buy is a hoofing great warehouse on an anonymous industrial estate to house all my cars.

And Blarnosport's headquarters..

Many test drives would be needed of course, but the shortlist(s) would look like:

1. Range Rover / E63 Estate / M5
2. Ferrari 458 Italia / 458 Spider
3. V12 Vantage / DBS
4. GTI ED35 / RS3 / 135i
5. BAC Mono / Exige V6 / Atom

I agree about £5 million drying up quite quickly (it's crazy to write that), after buying a new house and stuff, but. I don't know if my choices would change very much. I can't see a time I'd really want a million pound car, I'd never be brave enough to take it out.

I have decided to swap my Leon for a Nissan 370Z.

Michael - Not cheaper but smaller and therefore easier to fit into the cars.

Or I mean I donít have any at the moment so when I win the lottery I will do, and naturally they will be small!

Blarno  - I want to stay where I am so Iím looking at:  2 bed flat £350k, 4 bed extended Victorian terrace house with street parking £600-800k. 5-6 bed family home with decent garden but still street parking £1.5-2.5 mil.

The sort I want for the cars, £3m+!

Top five? Assuming I get to keep the Z1 and M5 as I already have them, then....

1. Mercedes 300SL Gullwing. Because I have wanted one since I was 5 and nothing else compares (£500k+).
2. Mercedes 300 SEL 6.3 for arriving stylishly (£30-40k).
3. Latest Audi RS4 Avant for family duties (£60k).
4. Jaguar F-Type roadster for open fun (£60k?).
5. BMW i3 for about town (£20k?).

The Gullwing and i3 would preferably be black and the SEL, RS4 and F-Type would all need to be dark green.

So, call it circa £750k on cars. So £5m would do, factoring in a nice house somewhere and money stashed in the bank. But £10m would be better as I imagine the insurance on a Gullwing is horrendous and so are school fees....

£150m+ on Euromillions? Well now. Those WOULD be happy days.
