Another drunken post from me so I may change my mind when I sober up:

Ferrari Testarossa - surely the most 80s of all cars?
Mazda MX5
Porsche 959
Ferrari F40
Toyota MR2

When it came to car styling, the 80s was the decade that taste forgot - colour coded bodykits being the order of the day. But these somehow shone out among all the white wheels and inappropriate boot spoilers

Vauxhall Astra Mk 2 GTE 16v
BMW E30 325i 2-door
Peugeot 205 (any model)
Peugeot 405 (ditto)
Porsche 964 Carrera

And the worst

Porsche 911 Turbo SE cabrio "flat nose"
Maserati Biturbo
Aston Martin Virage
VW Santana
Vauxhall Cavalier Calibre

Fiat Uno
BMW 3 series of the era, usually white.
BMW 8 series
F40
Delorean

Also, as I spent most of my 80's in the US that list would include:

Corvette C4
Jeep Cherokee
Pontiac Firebird
Camaro
First gen Taurus

Callaway Sledgehammer
AMG Hammer
Countach/Testarossa (I know there's two cars there)
Citroen CX
Any road version of a Group B rally car

I have disagree with Nick's choice of 911 flatnose as a worst car of the '80's.  True it was total decadence and looked awful, but I sat in the coupe version  at Porsche headquarters in Reading in 1986 and it was a moment I won't quickly forget,  A year later I was taken out in one, the driver oversteered it around a tight bend with amazing control.  We did Warwick to Stratford and back.  In 1990 I got to drive a Testarossa, words can't describe how good that experience was.

The coupe was just about acceptable, though the faux Testarossa grilles on the wheelarches were dreadful, but the convertible was an abomination, with its Nazi staff car hood.

My list exactly, though I'd be tempted to try and fit a Porsche 959 in somewhere, It's deciding which one to drop is the problem. Maybe I'd list it in 6th place.

Lots and lots.

Ferrari Testarossa ranks up there, along with Porsche 959.

Among the others,

Audi Quattro
Peugeot 205
Peugeot 405
VW Golf MK II
Ford Sierra
Toyota MR2
Honda Accord circa 1982 (simply because my dad had one   )

I think there are more.

CX is from the 70s.

I saw a Flatnose 911 at the end of my road today. 'R' reg - 1976.

My parents had 2 CX's in the '80's, that's why they are in my list.  The flatnose came out in '85-'86.
