In late 2006 I saw something interesting and in the following years, 2007, 2008 and 2009, I saw some more interesting stuff.

Not seen much this year though

A blue X6M yesterday. It'll probably be quite menacing in a dark shade, but just looks silly in a light colour.

A few hours before that I saw a 6-door stretched Merc ML. A last gen one with a butchered git plate that made some reference to being a 'limo'.

Noticed my first few '60' plates today. I was in the passenger seat, so I made a conscious effort to see one at last. A silver C'eed was the first.

A standard X6 the other day, the driver was wearing a Ferrari cap which I thought was quite appropriate.

2 new 5 series today, an E60 on late plates and the new F model.

I still want an E60 535D......

YES!!!!!!

My first sighting today of a Bugatti Veyron.
Business trip down to Kent this morning, and it pulled onto the M20 or M26 or whatever just behind me, then was gone in a matter of seconds.
Black, and Luxembourg-registered.
If I hadn't been driving, I'd have taken a photo. My colleague didn't have a camera with him :-(

Black, all black so that the roof-mounted chromed inlet ducts really stood out. Actually looked very classy compared to the many photos of  two-toned black and silver-grey Veyrons that I have seen on the internet and in magazines

Tidy.  There was an all-black one at Prescott this year or last year, or both - can't remember.  Likely to be the same one perhaps!

I like single-colour Veyrons myself. Like this production version of the turbo-nutter edition:

Great spot, Chris - seeing one at Prescott, Goodwood or Le Mans is one thing, seeing one on the road is quite another ...

That one looks magnificent, especially the wheels.

I forgot it earlier, but I also saw our old Vectra. It's now on 16" Vectra B SRI wheels and the owner has removed the LS badges on the side.

Bland, big, wooden, but gripped like buggery and as a new driver, never really scared me shitless, and when I had learnt to lean on it, fun in a rudimentary way. The Astra feels insecure at the rear by comparison.

I've driven much better cars, but as the first one I drove without someone holding my hand, it'll always hold a special place in my memory. KC02XGV I salute you.

A meeting gof the Prius Owner's club, I think.  3 in convoy, all turning into the same small side road.  Not brand new, either.  Weird.

And, at the opposite end of the scale, in several ways, a beautiful red XK R convertible.  Top down.  Chap driving gave it full welly in a very quick overtake.  That thing shifted.  Nice!

I saw an Atom on the road last week. Dunno if they actually are wide or not, but the lack of height makes them look that way. A bigger car than I expected anyways.

Also saw a Lancia Gamma broken down near Castle Combe yesterday.

A 599 GTB being closely followed by a 997 Turbo, an 80's Bristol in what looked very similar to Smurf Blue, and a yellow Ultima GTR.

Pulled into a petrol station near Edinburgh on Friday and spotted a Renault 4x4 thing with a taped on white rear no. plate.

Closer inspection actually revealed it to be a Porsche Cayenne, presumably the newly released facelift/Mk2 version.

On leaving I spotted the word 'Hybrid' on the front wing as well.

It's still an ugly car.

I saw a diesel one last week, I think the facelift has been a successful one and from the side it looks very much like an Infiniti.

My first Aston Martin Rapide in the metal. It was in pearlescent White parked outside the cinema in Leeds.

Underwhelmed is all I can say. The rear lights look extremely tacky and the whole thing just didn't sit right to me.

I'd save 20k+ and take a DB9 every day of the week.

A black R35 GTR overtaking a lime green, first-gen Insight. There was a silver, current Insight at the adjoining set of traffic lights.

It resembled something Blarno would only envisage in his nightmares!

so you didn't google cabbagetown then?

Its so called due to the residents of the area  being so poor in days gone by, they grew cabbages in the front garden, of course its all gentrified and posh now, as you can tell from the chicken sat atop the pickup.....

Would love to live round there, but the average price is north of 600 -700k and garages add another 100k, so I'll just carry on with my flat that overlooks cabbagetown.

There was a Ford Flex parked up in the pub car park tonight, it looks a lot bigger on this side of the pond than it does on that side.
It was from an import company called EuropaSVT or something like that which are based not a million miles away.

I had a Europa SVT catalogue with one of the classic mags this summer.

Outside the house this evening we've had a guy's Rover 200 lunch its gearbox and cover the road with oil. Poor sod.

Followed a Hummer for a little while on Sunday. It wasn't the military one or the smallest one.

Reckoned he didn't go for any overtakes as he wasn't sure where the next petrol station was.

Very middle aged? does that mean it was exactly half way thorugh her life? how do you know?

edit: just asked someone in my office what they think 'middle-aged' is and they said "old" - I take it back!
