Nov 99 Honda CB1100S-F X11. One owner, 6k miles.
Performance figures from October 2000 issue of Bike magazine, comparing with the opposition:
Yamaha XJR1300 Kawasaki ZRX1100 Honda X11 Suzuki 1200 Bandit
0-60 3.60 4.00 3.80 4.84
0-100 8.44 8.80 6.10 8.56
Braking 70-0 3.21 4.88 3.32 3.50
0-100-0 13.30 15.41 10.75 13.19
Top speed 137.83 137.40 152.60 140.40
See the Yamaha's off-the-line fleet-footedness pummeled by time the Honda gets its jacket off, beating it to 100mph by more than two seconds. And the poor old asthmatic Kwakka... In terms of 0-100-0, the Honda's showered and shaved by time the ZRX crossed the line.
It's pretty much a 'naked' SuperBlackbird, with the mill in a slightly different state of tune. All this performance for under £3k... The grave awaits, indeed. |

A typical 9-y-o Honda: looks like new. No danger of that with a Suzuki or Ducati.
Not a fan of naked bikes but the figures for this Honda look pretty well: fuck-off-everyone-else good. _________________ Call the fire brigade, call the firebrigade......

Looks stunning, kraft - must admit, I've stopped looking for the moment. Seems a fitting replacement for your Suzy, and probably will last longer quality-wise too, as Blue says. _________________ Just keepin' on keeping on. |

Funny, the guy's playing hardball on the price. To be honest, he's got it slightly overpriced as he paid too much for it in the first place. I could pick one up for as much as a grand cheaper - maybe 10k more miles - but as you point out, Jeff, a nine-year-old Honda pretty much looks new unless it's been battered. This one looks about as nice as I can find, so I'm willing to pay a bit extra, but don't want to have the piss taken out of me
The bloke's called me twice this morning and appears to be getting a little more conciliatory, so we'll see what develops. Fingers crossed. _________________ I don't want to achieve immortality through my work. I want to achieve it through not dying. |
