Took a video of the CLS doing a 0-60mph run. Here's the video:-

Sorry about the quality (done on blackberry), but I reckon it's about 5.5s.

Done 3k miles now and it feels pretty quick.

Anyone fancy trying to beat my time

...and quiet,  looks effortless!

I need 2 gear changes to hit 60 in mine...

But I feel the "gauntlet" has been thrown down!

That looks seriously quick - I doubt mine could keep up.

I'm a bit too busy just now to go out with a camera etc but a couple of 335D videos from You Tube. The second is a computer simulation, which is probably complete rubbish but in the first the car seems to change up a bit early!

It has 272bhp and 590nm of torque.  Both of those figures are circa 50 up on the standard car. As you'd expect, it's the torque that really shines through - mid range grunt is something to behold.

And it still averages 40mpg....

Does look very quick; for one that drinks from Satan's pump at least!

Fixed your post

Looks incredibly quick to me and all without the clatter of an FX1 cab.  Incredible...

It looks pretty quick to me and with an Auto box will be pretty handy at the TLGP.

Watch out 12th.....

I'm still waiting for pictures of your CLS, Garry? Any chance? Want to see your colour combination - sounds very cool.

Oh yeah - that's bloody quick!

Very nice and a welcome change from the usual silver or grey.  I assume the same engine tweakery can be done to an E320 cdi estate?...

...makes plans for next family car

On my way home from work i quite often see a CLS in a light metallic blue and it doesn't suit the car at all and also one in what looks like solid red which looks suprisingly okay.
Yours Gary, looks lovely.

That looks pukka, from those pics the colour reminds me of BMW's Oxford Green.

lovely car garry ,and you did the right thing chipping it.

not sure you could take on the r8/rs4/gt3 /m3  that inhabit this board though ;)

Not timed mine yet since the chip, but I reckon it will crack 4 secs to 60 and do 100in about 9...but that is just guesstimate based on my gut feelings.

If you've got an I-phone the Dynolicious App is meant to be quite good.
I asked in the Best of forum the other day about it but interestingly I was speaking to a friend at the weekend who'd has his car timed by Fast Ford and it was 0.2 seconds out to 100 as per his phone. Seems Ok for £8 ( or whatever it is for the App). My friend is going to try it out in mine when we get a chance

Though given that they're all manuals, I reckon garry might have us on a best-of-10 standing start competition.

Very true - always impressive how well those auto-only C32/SLK32 AMG Mercs did at the 0-100-0 Autocar comps with 'only' 350bhp against lighter, more powerful manuals

I remember Autocar did a best-of-five standing start for a manual M3 versus a paddle-shift one. Chris Harris was driving the manual, out-dragged Sutcliffe in the SMG for the first four starts, then broke the gearbox on the fifth one.

Skyhook in his 100hp could take it.

At least he'd make you believe he could.

Lovely exterior and interior choice. I fear the next one may not look as menacing.
