Just had a quick gander through my Cars International 1989 (!) book and saw some old concepts that look familiar:

1989 Ghia Saguaro. Mk2 Focus, anyone?

1987 Citroen Activa. A few years ahead of the C6...

EDIT. Sorry the pics are tiny, they were what I could find on Google Image.

No problem - you've touched on one of my favourite topics - classic concept cars.

Bertone Bravo:

Relatively recent, but this is one of my favourite concepts.

Another concept I really liked was produced in the early nineties was an Allroad type vehicle based on an Escort Estate. I only remember seeing picture of it in an obscure industry magazine a few years ago.

Those are brilliant.

I used to have a copy of Cars International 1990, which I then proceeded to cut up and make a scrapbook out of. Shame.

Many, many nice pics of cars in there.

What's the silver one above the Megane, Dan? It's not a thing of beauty and elegance to my mind, whatever it is.........

My favourite ever has to be the Alfa Nuvola, which I was delighted to find resident in the Museo Storico Alfa when I visited a few weeks ago. Just gorgeous.

I remember that gold Renault. Initiale wasn't it?

And the Ford Indigo, and VW W12.

Anyone remembers the original Modus?

Mmm, yes...

Also there was a small orange Renault concept circa 1996. I think it was called the Next.

That white Ferrari was on display at the Ferrari museum when I visited. It's pleasingly small.

It's basically what became the Boxer, though far cleaner and more modern looking IMHO.

Thinking of the Bentley Hunaudieres in Dan's photo, I wonder how much of its technology went into the Veyron ...
