Basically Pier 17 (close to the Manhattan base of the Brooklyn Bridge)  was wiped out by Superstorm Sandy in 2012 and has had to be totally rebuilt; expected to re-open in 2017

A few more later on , maybe , if my computer start to run a little faster :-(

Fantastic. I really must go back to New York. So I can say, after a few days, "It's great but I'm glad to be leaving it behind." Manic, mega busy place.

We went to New York in 2003; our hotel was in Times Square, it is an absolutely fantastic city and would I would love to go again at some point, I have very fond memories of that holiday.
