A 1967 Maserati Quattroporte I (2a serie) Race Circuit Fire Tender

Original white with original black leather interior. All steel body. Left-hand drive.

One of only five cars built as fire tenders for use on Italian racing circuits of that period.

In its day these five cars were a sensation and were immediately named the 'the fastest fire tenders in the world'.

This Maserati Quattroporte fire tender was powered by a 4.2-litre V8 four-cam engine delivering 260 bhp at 5200 rpm. It is equipped with a manual 5-speed ZF gearbox, Girling disc brakes and Borrani steel wheels. It weighs around 1750 Kg and has a top speed of about 225 kph.

This car is one of five cars built in 1967 by CEA (Construzione Estintori Anticendio of Bologna, Italy). They adapted a factory Frua limousine by cutting out part of the roof and the boot compartment. The car was used in the 70's in several Italian race meetings.

In 1987 all the five cars built were sold to a discerning Austrian collector. Of those five car he kept the best one for his own collection; this is that actual car and is currently offered for sale. The car was last used in 1989 on the Coupe de l'Age d'Or at Monthléry and has been in dry storage ever since.

So now you know the difference between a Maserati and a Ferrari.

Full marks.

Looks like driving it could be somewhat alarming and make you a bit tender.

Careful you don't get flamed for making puns like that - you could end up feeling a bit put out in the end.
