Sold the K1 this evening - phew!

I've been looking at replacements all last week and figured I owed it to myself to try the Hayabusa experience. This arrives on Friday...

It's a 1999 RX full-power model - complete with 220mph clocks - in very rare Suzuki racing colours and only 13.9k miles covered. I'm planning on having the wheels powder-coated white, but we'll see.

Joe's off to Ibiza with her friends in the last week of June - the perfect opportunity to hit the Swiss alps. Been checking routes all day today.

Waaaa-hoo!

I guess Goodwin was right then. Still at least its off your 'done that' list.

I'll buy you a pint if we can see evidence of you reaching the double ton on the new beast.

I want to see Whistle ride pillion first!

That looks great, and I am glad you got the "full fat" version...

Keep the wheels orange. They match the bus.

That is the first ever 'Busa I've ever thought desirable; that livery shouldn't have been so rare compared to the tedious usual paint options.

Glad to hear that you sold the K1.

Your time together reminded me of Claudia Schiffer. An absolute cracker from Germany who.......No......Sorry, I've lost my train of thought there. Mmmmmmmm Claudia......

Hope you have a longer lasting relationship with the 'busa' and that when it comes to parting time, it's on your terms!

Funny, I didn't see the Goodwin piece until after Dave pointed it out. I wasn't sure what you meant, Ed. Yes, he was absolutely spot-on.

As for maxing it, well... I'm not so sure about that. Didn't get anywhere near max on the Blackbird. Indicated 145-or-so was as fast as I got and that was momentary, at 6am, on a deserted back-road in Oxfordshire - on the way to Prescott last year, actually.

Thing is, if  one gets caught doing those sorts of speeds, one's going down. I'm fairly certain I'd like to avoid that.

This guy gets pretty close to max...

Not if you turn sharp left on your way to the Alps. I'd avoid the A5 though - only two lanes each side and always very busy.

That is fine advice...

Seems like a good excuse for a ring trip!

As for maxing out a hayabusa, There is no way I would be brave enough to hold at more the half throttle.

I'm pretty sure I don't want to do the 'Ring on a bike, less a bike like the Hayabusa. I'm itching to get there on the SL, though.

It's one of life's great ponderables. 'I'm on the train...'; 'I'm on the bus...'; 'I'm in the car...'

I just had visions of Joe driving and you perched atop the bootlid, surfing round Karussel...
